Mary Josephine Longley Curry
Memorial services for Mary Josephine Longley Curry, who died
Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at Crockett County Care Center in Ozona,
will be held on Saturday, May 17 at 5 p.m. at St. John s Episcopal
Church in Sonora, Texas. Mrs. Curry was the daughter of pioneer
ranchers Cam Longley and Josephine Young Longley of Crockett,
Terrell and Val Verde counties since the early 1900s. The youngest
of five children, Josephine Longley was born October 15, 1913 in
Ozona and attended Ozona Public Schools and San Marcos Baptist
Academy. She married William Calvert Curry, a pharmacist, in 1935.
Mr. and Mrs. Curry lived briefly in Sanderson and Lubbock before
settling in San Angelo where Mr. Curry owned Curry Drug Company.
In San Angelo, Mrs. Curry was a member of The "32 Club," The Eastern
Star and The Daughters of The Nile organizations. After Mr. Currys
death in 1967, Mrs. Curry moved to the Longley home in Del Rio to
care for her mother. While in Del Rio, she enjoyed her lifelong
hobby of painting in the mediums of oil, pastel and china. She was
a member of The Del Rio Porcelain Arts Club and the First Christian
Church of Del Rio. For the past four years, Mrs. Curry has been a
resident of Crockett County Care Center in Ozona. Preceding
Josephine Longley in death were her parents; her husband; her
sister, Gretchen Longley Word; three brothers, Glen Lawley Longley,
Cole Young Longley, and Col. Cam Longley, Jr.; and grandson Alan
Neil Emery, Jr. Survivors include a son, Virgil Chrane, and two
daughters, Virginia Calvert Curry Epps and husband Ben of Sonora,
and Josephine Kay Curry Emery and husband Neil of Langtry. Mrs.
Currys grandchildren include Donald Loding Campbell and wife Ruth
Ann of Sweetwater, Cam Longley Campbell and wife Erika Jane of
Sonora, Calvert Curry Campbell and wife Bonnie Lou of Sonora, and
Kimberly Kay Emery Lozano and husband Eddie Lee of Langtry. Great
grandchildren include Donald Loding Campbell III (Tres) and Kathleen
Ann Campbell of Sweetwater, Chelsey Lou Campbell and Chance Calvert
Campbell of Sonora, Laurissa Kay Lozano, Alan Emery Lozano and
Kamryn Lea Lozano of Langtry, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Our family wishes to express heartfelt appreciation for the
professional care and many personal acts of kindness shown to our
Mother in the Crockett County Care Center. In lieu of flowers, the
family requests that memorials may be made to The Sutton County

D. Daniel Twyman, 33, of 2255 Old River Road, died at 4:15 pm
Monday, April 4, at Mount Carmel West Hospital after suffering
a heart attack earlier in the day. He was born January 19, 1950,
in Zanesville, the son of Shirley Loewendick Twyman and the
late Donald D. Twyman. Mr. Twyman was a mould maker for
Zanesville Mould Company and a member of St. Thomas Catholic
Church. Surviving are his wife, Patricia A. Montgomery Twyman,
whom he married Feb 14, 1970, are two daughters, Erin and Amy;
two sons, Joshua and Jacob; all of the home; and one sister,
Mrs. Howard (Peggy) Zwelling of 728 Lenox Avenue. Friends my
call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at Hillis Funeral Home, where
wake service will be held at 8 pm. Funeral mass will be held
10:30 am Thursday at St. Thomas Catholic Chuch with Father Peter
Gebhard, P.O. as celebrant. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
