Longley -- Mrs. Ada B., 94, of Apison, Tenn., died Friday afternoon
in a local nursing home. She was a lifelong resident of Apison and
was a member of the Apison United Methodist Church, where she had
taught Sunday School classes for many years. She was the widow of
J. W. Longley. survivors include two sons, M. B. Longley,
Chattanooga, Hood Longley, Apison; five grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren. Services will be held Sunday at 3 PM in the
Valley View Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Smith
and the Rev. Dwight Kilbourne officiating. Burial will be in Plowman
Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 3PM today at the
Valley View Chapel of the Lane Funeral Home Inc.

MORGAN NATIVE RITES MONDAY
McConnelsville - Anthony (Anse) Harter, 57, of 2250 Safford avenue,
Columbus, a former resident of McConnelsville died Friday at his
home following a long illness. He was personnel manager of the D.
L. Auld Co., specialists in metal stamping, and president of the
Central Ohio Personnel Association. Surviving are his widow, the
former Francine Savage, a daughter, Mrs. Walter Johnson of Columbus,
one son, Hugh, Middletown, Connecticut, and two grandchildren.
Requiem high mass was sung Monday in St. Agnes Catholic church in
Columbus. Burial was in the St. Joseph cemetery there.

Russell Dean Hunter was born August 27, 1925, in Covington, Okla.
to Mildred E. Clevenger and Russell C. Hunter. He died April 19,
2006, in Tyler. Mr. Clevenger (sic Hunter) moved to Gladewater, Texas in 1931,
where he attended Gladewater, White Oak and New London schools. He
went on to attend Kilgore College and Madison College in Tennessee.
He served his country in the Army paratroopers during WWII in the
Jump in Holland, the Ardennes (Battle of the Bulge), the Jump across
the Rhine River, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was awarded
two Bronze Stars, the EAME Medal with three Bronze Stars and the
Bronze Arrowhead. He was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal, WWII
Victory Medal and the Purple Heart. He was preceded in death by his
mother and father and his school-days sweetheart and wife, Sammie
Ruth Welch Hunter. He is survived by his fine son, Russell and
wife, Vicki, of Dickinson, Texas; darling daughter, Cynthia and
husband, Bernard Jackson; and grandchildren, Adam Jackson and Sammie
Jackson Balderas; and one great-grandchild, Donovan Balderas of
Pasadena, Texas. Graveside services are to be at Lakeview Memorial
Gardens, West Harrison Road, Longview, Texas 75601, under the
direction of Autry Funeral Home of Jacksonville. Family requests
that memorial contributions be made to Seventh Day Adventist
Church, P.O. Box 400, Rusk, Texas 75785

Mrs Lou Watts Called By Death
Crooksville, O. - Mrs. Lou Watts, wife of Edward E Watts, of 277 West
Main street, passed away at the Good Samaritan hospital at 7:30
Tuesday morning following a protracted illness. She is survived
by her husband, one son, Pfc. Ned Watts of the U.S. Army in France,
one daughter, Mrs. Fred Cannon, of Crooksville; one sister, Mrs.
Joseph Whalley, of Greensboro, Pa., and four grandchildren. She
was a valued member of the Crooksville Methodist church, and of
Starlight Chapter Order of Easter Star, of this city. Funeral
services will be conducted from the family home Friday afternoon
at 2:30, with Rev. E.E. Mosslander officiating. The body will be
returned from the Cannon and Cannon funeral home to the family home
Tuesday evening.
