Veryl E. Penrod, 46, of 216 East Lincoln street, New Lexington, an
employe of McGraw-Edison Company in Zanesville, died at 8 p.m.
Tuesday at Good Samaritan Medical Center following a long illness.
He was born July 23, 1926, in perry County, a son of Mrs. Pearl
Penrod of New Lexington and the late Walter Penrod. He was a World
War II veteran and a member of the New Lexington Free Methodist
Church. Surviving in addition to his mother are two sons, Boby Gene
and Barry, both of Arleta, Calif.; a daughter, Rita of Arleta; two
grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Roger (Dorothy) Hooper and Mrs.
Ralph (Henrietta) Barnett, both of New Lexington; and a brother,
Robert of Nelsonville. A daughter is deceased. Friends may call
after 2 p.m. today at Chute-Wily Funeral Home in New Lexington.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Free Methodist Church
with Rev. Donal Glass and Rev. Rex Garrabrant officiating. Burial
will be in the New Lexington Cemetery. The body will be taken to the
church one hour before services.

Mrs. M. Gossett of Lloydsville, Is Called by Death
St. Clairsville, O. Mar 2 - Mrs. Mary M. Gossett, 24, wife of Herbert
Gossett, passed away suddenly early Thursday morning at her home
south of Lloydsville. While Mrs. Gossett has been ill for the past
two years death was unexpected. Mrs. Gossett was born may 28, 1909
at St. Clairsville, to the late Fred and Jessie Wiley Longley, well
known residents. She was educated in the local schools and took an
active part in school athletics. She was a staunch member of the
Lloydsville M.E. church. Surviving in addition to her husband, are
three sisters, Mrs. Wayne Van Curen and Mrs. Alice Neff, both of St.
Clairsville, and Miss Ella K. Longley, Wheeling. Funeral services
will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of Mr. and
Mrs. John Gossett, at Bannock. Rev. H. C. Hales of the Lloydsville
M. E. church will officiate. Interment will be made at Union
cemetery by the Johnston funeral service.

NEW LEXINGTON -- Albert Savage, 60, of Stickney, Ill., died at
8:40 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12 1997, at his home. Born Jan. 17, 1937,
in Junction City, he was employed by the city of Chicago, was a
member of Methodist Church and an Army veteran. Surviving are
his wife, Rebecca Dorsey Starzyk Savage his mother, Helen Savage
Morrow of New Lexington two stepsons, Matt Starzyk and John Starzyk,
both of Chicago a stepdaughter Cindy Tooley of Chicago nine
stepgrandchildren two brothers, Rick Savage of Lancaster and Ralph
Savage of Mount Perry and a stepbrother, Bob Morrow of Brooklyn. He
was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Savage, who died in 1957
a sister, Mildred Azbell a brother, Larry Savage his stepfather,
Winfred Morrow and a stepsister, Betty Morrow. Graveside services
will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at New Lexington Cemetery, New
Lexington with the Rev. Harry Fannin officiating. Roberts Funeral
Home, 304 Mill St., New Lexington, is in charge of arrangements.
