Mrs. Pauline M. Cooper, 61, of Vandercooke Lake, Jackson, Mich., a
native of Crooksville, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday (Feb 11) at Bethesda
Hospital where she was admitted Dec. 31. Mrs. Cooper was a daughter
of Mrs. Hattie Koon Watts of Crooksville and the late Edgar Watts.
She was a member of the Crooksville Methodist Church. Surviving in
addition to her mother are her husband, Rolland Cooper, a sister Miss
Etta Watts of Crooksville; a brother, Elmer Watts of 407 Brighton
boulevard and two nieces and two nephews. A sister, Georgia, is
deceased. The body was taken to the Crooksville Chapel of Cannon
and Cannon Funeral Home where friends may call after noon today.
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Crooksville chapel
with Rev. Harley Martin officiating. Burial will be in Crooksville
Cemetery.

February 26, 1995 in the University Hospital, Charlottesville. She was
preceded in death by her husband, Gordon B. Leeson. She is survived by one
sister, Leatha S. Lupold, Christiansburg; two brothers, C. A. ``Ike"
Sutphin, Blacksburg, Glenn Sutphin, Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters-in-law,
Mrs. Roy L. Sutphin, Blacksburg, Mrs. Snead Davenport, Jamesville, N.C.;
numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday,
March 1, 1995, from the graveside in Sunset Cemetery, conducted by the Rev.
Richard H. Horne. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Tuesday at the
Richardson-Horne Funeral Home and the family will receive friends there
from 6 to 8 p.m. tuesday evening. Arrangements by Richardson-Horne Funeral
Home, Christiansburg.

Joe D. Guess, 91, of Binger, Okla., died Monday at Corn Heritage
Village in Corn, Okla. He was born Dec. 7, 1914, in Sulphur, Okla.,
to John Whitfield and Cora Bertha Whalin Guess. He was a retired
carpenter and a member of the International Brotherhood of Carpenters
and Joiners. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene. He was
preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Louise Thompson Guess, and
a son, Joe F. Guess. Survivors include his wife, Alice Pulse; two
sons, John L. Guess of Colcord, Okla., and James E. Guess of
Claremore, Okla.; three step-children; a sister, Jean Good of
Shawnee, Okla.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and
stepgrandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren. Service is 2 p. m.
Thursday at Row Church of God in Colcord, Okla., with the Rev. Don
Callaway officiating. Visitation is 1 p. m. Thursday at the church.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home in Siloam
Springs.
