Mrs. Rebecca (Becky) Puterbaugh, 66, of 530 Harrison street, New Lexington died at 4:30 p.m. Friday in Good Samaritan Medical Center following a long illness. She was born April 24, 1907, in Perry County, a daughter of Charles and Ann Savage Smitley. She attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband, Samuel Puterbaugh, a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Judith) Starner of Lancaster, three grandchildren, four sisters, Mrs. Agnes Fleming and Mrs Josephine Cummins, both of Zanesville, Mrs. Hattie Quinn of Chandlersville and Mrs. Hazel Styers of Danville, a brother, Earl Smitley of Philo, and two stepbrothers, Jack Roe of California and James Roe of Crooksville Route 2. Two sisters and a brother are deceased. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday at Chute-Wiley Funeral Home in New Lexington where services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
