Carole Sylvia Cuff, 74, of Eufaula, passed away February 11, 2007, at
the Norman Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held 12:00
p.m., Thursday, February 15, 2007, at the Kelley Memorial Chapel with
the Reverend Ronnie Drake officiating. Burial was held 10:00 a.m.,
Friday, February 16, 2007 at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
Services were under the direction of Hunn, Black & Merritt Funeral
Home. Carole was born on January 19, 1933, in Oklahoma City,
Oklahoma, the daughter of Vandiver "Doc" and Sylvia (McGee) Pinkston.
She graduated from Capital Hill High School in 1949. Carole then
received her Associates Degree in Nutrition from Rose State College.
She worked as a nutritionist for Presbyterian Hospital for thirteen
years. She then worked it the cafeteria at Crooked Oak Schools. On
November 15, 1952, Carole married Ronald E. Cuff in Oklahoma City.
They were happily married for fifty-two years. In 1992, Carole and
Ron moved to Eufaula. She was a member of the Eufaula Eastern Star
and in 2001 she became Worthy Matron. Carole was a member of the
First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include: her son, Kenneth
Cuff and wife Sherrie of Oklahoma City; her daughter-in-law, Debbie
of Eufaula; her grandchildren, Craig and Nancy Cuff of Oklahoma City,
Angela Murray of Oklahoma City, Spencer and Donya Cuff of San Diego,
California and Sylvia Cuff of Sarasota, Florida and her four great
grandchildren, Austin, Brandon, Carson and Kristen. Carole is
preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald E. Sr. and one
son, Ronald E. Jr. in 2006.

Charles at the age of eighteen (1887) started his career as a
newspaper man and general printer with the DAILY LEADER, a
vocation he followed until this appointment in 1914 as Post
Master. He served as Post Master until 1923. He served as
Township Clerk, Board of Education Clerk of St. Marys, and
Trearurer of Auglaize CO, Democratic Executive Committee. He
held a 32 degree in the Scottish Rite Masons, and was a member
of the Order of Odd Fellows. He served as a volunteer Firemen
and was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. In 1926 he
started the Hunter's Printery with his son Robert G. Hunter.

C. L. Hunter
St. Marys. May 18 -- Charles L. Hunter, 69, who was St. Marys
postmaster for two terms in the Pres. Wilson administration and also
a former editor of the St. Marys Leader, died early Wednesday morning
at his home here after an extended illness. Hunter, who was a 32nd
degree Mason, also at one time served as clerk of the St. Marys school
board. He was a Democrat, was an active member of the Odd Fellows
lodge and had been a faithful member of the St. Marys Methodist
church. At one time he operated a newspaper at Buchanan, Mich.
Hunter is survived by his wife; a son, Robert, of St. Marys; three
brothers, Wilbur and Russell of St. Marys; John of Louisville, Ky.,
and a sister, Mrs. Dorsey Howe, St. Marys. Three grandchildren also
survive. Last rites will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Methodist church, with Rev. James H. Lyon officiating. Burial will
be in the Elmgrove cemetery.
