Colonel was a tall slender fella (5'11", 195 lbs) with blue eyes. He worked on the Frisco Railroad and raised registered Field dogs. He had an accident and lost half of his right foot and his right hand just above the wrist (my Uncle said his nickname was "Hamp"). He lived in Chester Arkansas, Reasor Oklahoma, Pryor Oklahoma, Compton California, Checotah Oklahoma, and Twin Oaks Oklahoma. Twin Oaks is a settlement at the edge of Kansas Oklahoma.

Daniel F. Lucas, 88 retired section foreman, died of complications late Saturday in his home at 206 Warner Rd. S.E. in Canton. He had been suffering from a heart condition for the past five weeks. Born in Harrison County, he moved to Canton from Sherrodsville about 50 years ago. He attended Martin Lutheran Church. Survivors are a sister, Mrs. William Peters of Jewett and three brothers, Gerry, Joseph and Samuel Lucas, all of Jewett; two sons, William H., and John F. Lucas, both of Canton and a daughter, Mrs. Cletus Jirard, of Canton. Services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in Reed Funeral Home in Canton. Burial will be in Forrest Hill Cemetery.
