McCONNELSVILLE - Jo Ann Kester, 77, of 1180 N. Kennebec Ave., McConnelsville, died at 7:07 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at the Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. Born March 12, 1928, in Crooksville, Miss Kester was an employee of Gould Inc. in McConnelsville for 25 years and was one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving are a daughter, Kathy Gibson of McConnelsville; five grandchildren, Aarik, Liggett, Nehemiah and Adam Gaiters, all of Zanesville, Rebekah Gaiters of Dayton; a sister, Gaile Dew of McConnelsville; a brother, Roger Kester of McConnelsville; several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Katherine Kate Epply Kester; her father, William "Bill" Kester; a brother, Vern Kester; and a grandson, Aaron Gaiters. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness in McConnelsville. A memorial graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006, at Bartlett Cemetery. Miller-Huck Funeral Home, McConnelsville, is handling arrangements for the family.

Services for Rebecca M. Blair, 78, of Lubbock were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at Ralls First Baptist Church in Ralls with Bruce Harris officiating. Burial was in Ralls Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home of Ralls. She died Monday, Nov. 4, 2002 at Lubbock. She was born Nov. 29, 1923, in Terry County, TX. She married Julius Blair on Aug. 18, 1942, in Clovis, N.M. He died June 27, 2000. She was preceded in death also by a son, Charles, on July 20, 1983, and a brother, C.W. Cowan, in February 2002. She was a member of the Cone First Baptist Church and a homemaker. She moved to the Cone area in 1969 from Ropesville. Survivors include four sons, Larry Don of Cone, Thomas Lee of Ralls, Harold of Crosbyton and Mark of Stephenville; three daughters, Geraldine LaBombard and Linda Blair, both of Lubbock, and Becky Landsdown of Crosbyton; two brothers, Frank Cowan of Stephenville and John A. Cowan of Ropesville; three sisters, Viola Williams of Meadow, Opal Russell of Seminole and Charlene Pruitt of Mineral Wells; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
