GLORIA B. SARASIEN, 79, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006, at University Park Nursing Home. Born March 12, 1927, in Wells County, she was the daughter of the late John and Bertha Mechling. She was a homemaker and member of Ascension Lutheran Church. She is survived by four sons, Randall Sarasien of Toledo, Ohio, Richard Sarasien of Fort Wayne, Roger Sarasien of Waterloo and James Sarasien III of Fort Wayne; brother, Harold Mechling of San Antonio; sisters, Georgie Turnbow of Glendale, Ariz., Bonnie Bireley of Fort Wayne and Lucille Leath of Garden Grove, Calif.; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Sarasien Jr. Service is 11 a.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church, 8811 Saint Joe Road, with calling from 9:30 a.m. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens.
