COSHOCTON -- Ruth E. (Durben) Hawk, 58, of 19495 Hook Road, died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, May 9, 2003, at Coshocton County Memorial Hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1945, in Coshocton County, to Harold Durben of Coshocton, and the late Ella Catherine (Snell) Durben. Mrs. Hawk worked at General Electric in Newcomerstown for 20 years, and at the time of her death she was employed with R.H.D.D. of Coshocton. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Newcomerstown. On Jan. 7, 1977, she married William L. Hawk who survives. Survivors include a daughter, Catherine (Richard) Gates of Coshocton brothers, David (Connie) Durben of Millersport, Roger Durben of Newcomerstown, and Danny (Penny) Durben of Columbus a sister, Carol Jean (Marvin) Blair of Newcomerstown stepmother Violet Durben of Coshocton special friends, Louie Reiss, Barbara Hahn and Margaret Stochay several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today, at the Church of the Nazarene in Newcomerstown. Pastors Don Gainer and Stephen Ward will conduct the services. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Newcomerstown. Calling hours are one hour prior to the service at the church. Given-Dawson Coshocton Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Newcomerstown Church of the Nazarene.
