ROYAL, Floyd E., 69, of Christiansburg, died Friday, February 24,
1995, in Lewis-Gale Hospital, Salem. He was the son of the late
W. L. and Aulelia S. Royal. Surviving are one son and
daughter-in-law, Jerry E. and Bonnie royal; one brother, Fred
N. Royal; one sister, Marie Bandy; one grandson, Blake E. Royal,
all of Christiansburg. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. tuesday,
February 28, 1995, at Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, conducted by
the Rev. Peter duPlessis. In lieu of flowers the family requests
memorials be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad. Arrangements
are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home. There will
be no visitation.

B.E. Blackburn Called From Life
Bernard E Blackburn, 50, died at 9:10 o'clock Thursday evening at
his home, 522 Putnam avenue. Death followed a six weeks' illness.
Mr. Blackburn was a native of McLuney, Perry county, but moved to
Zanesville about 15 years ago. He was a member of the Iliff M.E.
church of Perry county and the Masonic lodge of Crooksville.
Surviving are the widow, Ada; one son, Royse, of the home, and his
father, Frank, of Cambridge. Funeral services will be held at 2
o'clock Sunday afternoon at the Illif M.E. church and burial will
be at the church cemetery. The body will be returned from the
Cannon & Cannon funeral parlors to the late residence Friday
afternoon.

Browder Mosby Linkous, 88, of Salem, died on Tuesday, August 21,
2007. Born June 29, 1919, in Cambria, he was a son of George Thomas
Linkous and Maggie Catherine Knowles Linkous. In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Frances
Linkous. Mr. Linkous was a veteran in the U.S. Army during World War
II in the European Theater where he was a Sgt. in the 15th Field
Artillery Division. He was a retired sales and service representative
in the safety field and was a member of Melrose Baptist Church. He is
survived by his daughter, Connie Linkous Toven of Salem; his son, Don
Linkous of Roanoke; his brother, Melvin Linkous of Roanoke; and
grandchildren, Allison Linkous and Heather McBride, both of Roanoke,
and Erich Toven of Salem. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m.
on Friday, August 24, 2007 in the chapel at Evergreen Burial Park
with the Rev. Larry Sprouse officiating. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association,
Richmond Office, 530 E. Main St., Richmond, VA 23219. Arrangements
are by Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke chapel and online condolences may
be sent to the family at www.lotzfuneralhome.com.
