Tommy Saffell, 2-year-old son of Hal and Kay Stoneburner Saffell of Westerville, died at 5:05 a.m. Monday at his home. Death was ruled due to pneumonia by Franklin County Coroner Dr. Robert Evans. The child, whose father was formerly from New Lexington and whose mother was a former Zanesville resident, was first thought to have strangled on a pill. A Westerville physician was called to the home and ordered the body removed to University Hospital, Columbus, where it was examined by Dr. Evans, according to the Westerville Police Department. Surviving in addition to the parents are a sister, Ann, 5, of the home; grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Gene Saffell of 123 South High street, New Lexington, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Stoneburner of Joliet, Ill., recent Zanesville residents; great - grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Stoneburner of 831 Larzalere avenue and Mrs. George Beebe of 1917 Ridge avenue; and several aunts and uncles of Zanesville. Serves will be held in Westerville at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with graveside services and burial in Memorial Park that afternoon.
