Cleveland Herald, Bradley, Tennessee, February 4, 1909
PIPPINGER- Isaac Pippinger, of Polk County, aged 65 years, died at
8 o'clock Thurs, evening having suffered a stroke of apoplexy early
in the afternoon while sitting on a mule which had ridden in to a
stream near his home to water the animal. Mr Pippinger, when
stricken fell headlong over the mule's head into the stream. His
son saw his father fall into the stream and rescued him, carrying
him home, where he died a few hours later. Mr. Pippinger stood high
in Polk county and was well-known in this city. The funeral was
held last Staurday afternoon at the Symrna church, Rev. W.H.Rymer,
of Ocoee, officiating.

Dr. Carlyle David Dotson, age 56, of Grapeland, passed away Saturday,
November 29, 2003 in Latexo. Carlyle was born February 16, 1947 in
Houston and had lived in Houston County most of his lifetime. He was a
doctor of veterinary medicine and was owner of the Westside Animal
Clinic in Hudson. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University and was a
member of the Texas A&M Alumni. Carlyle was a member of the Central
Church of Christ in Lufkin. Survivors include wife, Peggy Leavings
Dotson of Grapeland; children, Jennifer Dotson, Christopher Dotson and
Meredith Dotson, all of Grapeland, Jessica Malone and husband, Larry,
of Nacogdoches and Datha Ward of Lufkin; grandchildren, Chase, Keara,
Laurel, Jacob and Andrew.; brothers, Garland Dotson and wife, Karol of
Fredricksburg, Gene Dotson and wife, Carolyn of Jacksonville; Gale
Dotson of Austonio; sister-in-law, Rhoda Dotson of Fredricksburg;
mother-in-law, Mervia Lee Leavings of Lufkin; numerous nieces, nephews
and other relatives. Dr. Dotson was preceded in death by his parents,
Fritz and Ora Dotson and brother, Darnell Dotson. Memorial services
for Dr. Carlyle David Dotson were held Monday, December 1, 2003 at 2
p.m. in the Callaway-Allee Memorial Chapel with Mr. Rick Kelley
officiating. In lieu of Flowers, memorial contributions may be made
to the American Heart Association, c/o Kathy Haeckler, 404 North 7th,
Crockett, Tx. 75835. Callaway-Allee Funeral Home, Crockett,
directors.
