Last Rites for John Lear to be Held at M'Luney
Injuries Sustained in Mine Accident Prove Fatal after Seven Weeks
John Lear, 63, died at 9:30 Saturday morning at Bethesda hospital where he had been receiving treatment for seven weeks for injuries sustained in a fall in a coal mine near his home in McLuney. A broken back was given as the cause of his death. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Surviving are three brothers, Frank, George and Clifford, all of McLuney, and three sisters, Mrs. Frank Brown, Crooksville, Mrs, Olie Robinson, Crooksville, and Mrs. Fred Ebert, McLuney. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home of the sister, Mrs. Fred Ebert, where the body will be taken from the Cannon and Cannon Funeral Home today. Rev. L C. McCandlish of Fultonham will officiate. Burial will be made in Iliff cemetery.
