Robert Savage Dies Retired Prison Branch Guard
Robert M. Savage, 64, of New Lexington, was dead on arrival at Good Samaritan Hospital at 7:30 a.m. Thursday (May 4) following an apparent heart attack. He was born Feb 13, 1903, at McLuney, a son of the late Clarence and Clara Colburn Savage. Mr. Savage retired two months ago after 15 years as guard at Junction City Branch of Ohio Penitentary. He was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church and New Lexington fire department and emergency squad. He is servived by four daughters, , Mrs. Lucy Nash and Mrs. Roberta King, both of New Lexington, Mrs. Sheila Burton of Worthington, Mrs. Carole Deavers of Columbus; a brother, Rolland Savage of Roseville; six sisters, Mrs. Della Wilson of New Lexington, Mrs. Marie Hinkle, Mrs. Carrie Rowe, Mrs, Dorthy Earley and Mrs. Loretta Wilson, all of Clare, Mich., Mrs. Jennie Flemming of Wheatridge, Colo.; 16 grandchildren. Requiem high mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Rose Catholic Church Monsignor Joseph Hakel will officiate. Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Sunday at Chute-Belford-Wiley Funeral Home in New Lexington where friends may call after 7 p.m. Saturday.

The Will of Albert R McGuire Savage, New Lexington, who died in May left $100 to his daughter-in-law, Violet Savage for the children of her marriage to her son Wallace and is automobile to his grandson Wallace King. The rest of his estate to be divided equally between his daughters, Lucy Nash, Roberta King, Shelia Burton and Carol Deavers. Mrs. Burton was appointed executrix.
