Thomas Longley being duly sworn says that his is the brother of James Longley Corporal of Co F 77th Regt Ohio Infantry.  Applicant for Original Invalid Pension No 720,400

That at or near Corinth Miss about May 31st 1862 said James longley in line of duty contracted Jaundice and Marlarial fever and diarhea from exposure and climatic influences which disabled him for duty and he was sent to Hospital for treatment.

On Oct 10 1862 i was discharged from same Co and returned home to Windsor Township Morgan Co., Ohioand my brother and I lived there till Feby 11, 1864 when I reinstated in same Co again and during that time he was an invalid suffering from chronic diarhea and indgestion and debilitated from jaundice and fever.  At this time he was not able to perform any hard labor.

In March 1866 I again returned home to Morgan Co., Ohio and my brother James and I resided there till 1868 and during that time he was still trobled with chronic diarhea and indigestion and debilitated from the effects of jaundice and fever.

In 1879 I removed from Chester Ills to Cold Springs Stearns Co., Minnesota and aain saw my brother our homes were aobut 5 miles apart he having his home near Rockville Minn.  I noticed that his disability had increased.  We are both Coopers and since 1879 we have at times worked in the same shops and as we worked by the peice he was not able to ear inc half as much as healthy coopers working in the same shops.  In the past 15 months my brother has worked in the same shop with me ??? N St Cloud and has boarded with me, and he when able to work has not earned one half what healthy coopers in the same shop earned.  About ten year ago he first was troubled with Heart disease.  At times his is compelled to lay off in account of his impaired Physical condidtion resulting from Heart Disease.  At times he is compelled to lay off in account of his impaired physical condition resulting from heart disease, Diarhea, and indigestion and ??? trouble.  His condition is such now that he is totally disabled for the performance of such manual labor that healthy laborers can easily perform.  He is emaciated very slow in his movements and has a sunken chest.  Is troubled with paplitation of the heart and pains in the region of the heart and lung troubles.  I was a member of company F 77th Regt Ohio infantry and present when he was taken sick as stated above.  I am not intereste in his claim and am no concerned in its prosecution,
