DANIEL, Edwin Curtis: 13 Oct 1918 - 15 Dec 2004
Source: online newspaper archives
The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, December 17, 2004
DANIEL Edwin "Curt", 86, was born October 13, 1918 in Kiefer, OK to Henry Wilbert and Adeline (Conley) Daniel. He graduated from Sapulpa High School in 1936 where he earned the nickname "Tick" due to his smallness and speed on the football playing field. In 1937, he began a proud and rewarding 42-year career with the Frisco railroad. His first job was in Depew, OK where he held the position of "trainmeeter," paying $20 per month. He retired as a conductor on both freight and passenger trains. He was a World War II veteran stationed most of his service time in Alaska, sleeping in tents in 70 degree temperatures. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and proudly held the honor of 32nd degree for over 50 years. The first priority in dad's life was his family. On December 18, 1940 he married Lois Irene Hunter. She would remain his "sweetie" and the love of his life for almost 64 years. The love they shared is an inspiration, to all of us. After retiring, they traveled the country in their RV meeting and making friends along the way. As avid Oklahoma University football fans, they boasted of parking the RV in the Orange Bowl parking lot. Dad's loving memory will always be cherished by his surviving family: brother, Joe Daniel of Enid; beautiful wife, Lois Irene (Hunter) Daniel; daughter, Sharon Kay and her husband, Dell Shaw of Tuttle; son, Edwin Curtis Daniel, Jr. of Warr Acres; son, Donald Eugene Daniel and wife, Carolyn of OKC; grandchildren, Carrie Rodgers, Eric Shaw, Kevin Daniel, Greg Shaw, Jeremy Daniel; great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Shaw, Allyson Shaw, Emily Daniel, Bailey Daniel and Mia Shaw. He was preceded in death by his parents: Adeline and Henry Daniel; brother, Tom Daniel; sisters, Kay Peed, Sally Burton and Lou Ann Kerns. The family wants to thank the fourth floor staff and dad's doctors at Southwest Medical Center for their excellent care. A special thank you to Dr. Syed Abbas for the precious extra years he gave us with dad. We also want to thank our loving "family" at the Rambling Oaks Assisted Living Resident on South Western for taking such good care of our daddy (and mom). Daddy, we will love you forever - you will always be our hero. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, December 18, 2004 at the Baggerley-South Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Source: online newspaper archives
The Daily Oklahoman, Oklahoma City, January 21, 2005
DANIEL Lois Irene, 81, was born in Covington, OK on June 12, 1923, to William Henry and Mary Miranda (Henshaw) Hunter. When she was 13, mom's older brother introduced her to a handsome young man named Edwin Curtis Daniel. Mom and dad married on December 18, 1940. She lost the love of her life a little over one month ago December 15, 2004, after almost 64 years of marriage. They just couldn't be parted for long. For many years, mom was a secretary at Southeast High School. However, her greatest career was that of devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She truly loved her family. Lois was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Curt; her parents; Bill and Mary Hunter; and four siblings, Bill Hunter, Marilyn Shiplet, Midge Nay and Ralph Hunter. Mom leaves to cherish her precious memory; her daughter, Sharon Shaw and husband Dell of Tuttle; son, Ed Daniel, Jr. of Warr Acres; and son, Don Daniel and wife Carolyn of OKC. Grandma also leaves five grandchildren, Carrie Rodgers, Eric Shaw, Kevin Daniel, Greg Shaw, Jeremy Daniel and five great grandchildren, Jeffrey Shaw, Allyson Shaw, Emily Daniel, Bailey Daniel and Mia Shaw. Everyone who knew mom knows of her belief in angels. We know she and dad are walking hand and hand down golden streets surrounded by a host of heavenly angels. Mom, we will never forget your beautiful smile, infectious giggle and gentle touch. You will always be our special angel. Thank you to Dr. Charles Morgan for giving such wonderful Alzheimer care that mom still knew and enjoyed her family after so many years. A special thank you and goodbye to our wonderful family at Rambling Oaks Courtyard Assisted Living Center for taking such good care of our parents. You truly have "wings" beneath those shirts. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 22, 2004 at Baggerley South Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Resthaven Memory Gardens.

HUNTER, Anderson Russell "Andrew": 29 Aug 1824 - 17 Jun 1892
Source: From Georgann Hunter's online dbase
Another pioneer citizen has joined the silent majority and the gloomy monitor has darkened another household. A.R. HUNTER, one of the oldest citizens of St. Marys, departed this life Friday, Jun 17, 1892, aged 67, 9 months and 19 days, Death had been momentary expected for several days, yet it came with a suddeness that was truly painful. He had just been conversing with his wife, and at a moment when her back was turned the fatal summons come and the spirit was carried to the God who gave it. Anderson R. Hunter was born in Ross CO, OH, Aug 29, 1824 and about forthy-five years of his life were spent in St. Marys. He was married to Mary Jane Blew (Bleu) , Oct 6, 1846, whose death occured May 6, 1865. There were no children by his first wife. He was again married Nov 15, 1865 to Miss Julia A. Emerick, 11 children - 10 boys and one girl -- being the product of such marriage. The wife and eight children survive him. The deceased was at one time one of the most robust men in this section of OH. In fact, he was almost a giant in strength and had a constitution of wonderful physical powers. Several years ago, however, he recieved a fall, from which he sustained injuries that followed him to his grave. Mr. Hunter had a eventful career, and at one time was among the wealthiest of our citizens. The corroding stream of misfortuen, however, reduced his possessions and several years prior to his death he was obliged to struggle against the stream of fate. He was industrious, however, and his frugality kept his home amply provided with the necessaries of life. He was a good, peaceable citizen and always entertained the popular respect. His occupation was stock buyer and butcher, and during the war he was United States Marshal at this point. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Baumgardner Saturday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in Elm Grove Cemetery.
