LUPOLD, Ray Palmer, 84, of Christiansburg, died Sunday, January 4, 1998, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and the Masonic Lodge #86 AF &AM. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Tim Blair, Fayetteville, N.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Leslie Lupold, Petersburg; four granddaughters; and two grandsons. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Kanney officiating and burial to follow in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the St. Paul United Methodist Men's Sunday School Class, 220 W. Main St., Christsiansburg, Va. 24073. Arrangements are being handled by Richardson-Horne Funeral Home

Dr. Samuel L. Malone, died at his home in Cleaver, Mo., on April 25 [1919] at the age of 58 yeas and was buried in the cemetery at Great Falls on Saturday beside the grave of his daughter, Bonnie. Mr. Malone followed his profession in Kansas City up until the year 1909 when he removed to Choteau [Mt.] with his family. All of whom reside in the vicinity at the present time, excepting one daughter who lives in Oregon. Deceased is survived by Grace Malone, his wife, and Carlton K., Robert L., of Choteau; Mrs. P.C. Truchot, Mitchel, Ore.; Mrs. Z.B. Noble, of Bynum, Mrs. Alexander Truchot and Ruth Malone. Dr. Malone was a man of winning personality and during his residence in Montana formed a wide circle of friends.

Dr. Samuel Malone who died at Cleaver, Mo., on April 25 [1919] at the age of 58 years, was buried last Saturday at Great Falls, beside the remains of his daughter Miss Bonnie Malone, whose death occurred at Great Falls a couple of years ago, the result of her clothing catching fire while she was engaged in cleaning them. Dr. Malone came to Choteau with his family from Kansas City in 1909 and made his home in this vicinity since that date. He is survived by his wife, Grace Malone and Carlton K., and Robert L. Malone, of Choteau, his sons; Mrs. P.C. Truchot of Mitchel Ore., Mrs. Z.B. Noble of Bynum; Mrs. Alex Truchot and Miss Ruth Malone of Choteau, his daughters.

Born April 10, 1933 in Montgomery County, Va., he was the son of the late William Taylor Martin and Essie Kanode Martin. He was preceded in death by a sister, Melita Martin. He retired from Tultex Spindale Plant after 30 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Katharine Martin, of the home; two sons, Christopher Keith Martin, Richmond, Rodney Taylor Martin, Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Zane Martin, Christiansburg; one sister, Linda Jean Martin, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 16, 2001 at 2:30 p.m. in the Norris Funeral Services Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Derflinger officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends Friday from 1 p.m. until service time at Norris Funeral Services.

Katharine Ruth Knowles Martin, 75, of Martinsville, Va. died on Monday, July 30, 2007 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville. Known as "Kitty," she was born July 19, 1932 in Montgomery County, Va. She was the daughter of the late Alvin Knowles and Ruth King Knowles. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Brammer Martin and one brother, Harless Knowles. Ms. Martin was a member of Chatham Heights United Methodist Church. Surviving are her two sons, Christopher Keith Martin of Richmond, Va. and Rodney Taylor Martin of Raleigh, N.C.; three sisters, Jane Sterling of Gloucester Point, Va., Phyllis Wilburn of Roanoke, Va., and Bonnie Hall of Ridgeway, Va.; and one brother, Selma Knowles of Christiansburg, Va. The funeral service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, August 3, 2007 at Norris Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Ed Burch officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m., before the service. Memorials may be made to a children's charity of the donor's choice.

Funeral services for Mrs. Ruth M. Massey, 95, will be conducted at 4:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon from the Polk Street Mehodist Church by Rev. C. C. Gaines, church pastor. Mrs. Massey died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L T Sears, 714 Tyler Street. Other survivors are three sons, G R and W. E. Massey of ?ville, Iowa, and H H Massey of ?, Iowa. She was the widow of L. D. Massey, a civil War veteran who died here 17 years ago. She held membership in the Polk Street Methodist Church. N .S. Griggs and Sons will be in charge of the rites.

Fred B McPeak of the Hotel Danville died yesterday morning. McPeak, 60, was born in Schoolfield, a son of Mrs. Sena S. McPeak and the late William C. McPeak. In addition to his mother of 29 Dallas Ave., he is survived by two sister and one brother, Mrs. Thelma June Meadows of Danville, Mrs. Nellie R. Shore of Silver Springs, Fla., and Chester L. McPeak of Greensboro. Graveside rites will be held in the Dan View Cemetery in Eden at 2 p.m. tomorrow by the Rev. M. N. DeHaven. The body is at Swicegood Funeral Home. The family will be at Mrs. McPeak's home on Dallas Avenue.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Hazel Van Sutphin McPeak, five sisters, Cora Bolt, Annie Dalton, Pearl McPeak Summers, Mattie Rush, Ona Tilley and three brothers, Benjamin, Rev. John and Grover McPeak. Mr. McPeak retired from United Elastic Corp. and was a member of Vesta Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are his wife, Cassie K. McPeak, of the home; one daughter, Rita Lawson of Martinsville; one stepdaughter, Pamela G. Jordan of Tyler, Texas; three stepsons, Wayne M. Campbell of Eden, N.C., Randy M. C.; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 2, 2006 at 10 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. Burial will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery, Pulaski County. Hayden Costigan Moore, age 9, received his angel wings on Saturday morning, April 15, 2006 at his home in Pulaski, Virginia after a two year battle with Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT), a rare form of brain cancer. He was born February 14, 1997. He was a third grader at Snowville Elementary School where he loved all his teachers and his many friends. Hayden was preceded in death by his grandmother, Burley Jean Moore. Hayden's memory will be forever cherished by his parents, Barry and Christy Moore, Jr.; his sister Madeline and his brother, Peyton, of the home; his maternal grandparents, David and Helen Heavener of Blacksburg; paternal grandfather, Barry S. Moore, Sr., Pulaski; aunts and uncles, Mary and Chuck Heavener, Blacksburg; Alice and Joe Cappellino and two cousins, Christian and Connor Cappellino of Rockville, Virginia. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. There will be a Celebration of Hayden's life on Tuesday 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 408 North Jefferson Avenue, Pulaski with Reverend Jeff Kackley officiating. Burial services will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery. Goldie Tootsie Cassell Pilson, 73, of Vesta, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at the North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem. A Patrick County native, she was born on April 29, 1928 to the late Edgar Cassell and the late Maggie Knowles Cassell. Her husband, Jesse Wayne Pilson, preceded her in death; also, a grandson, Jason Keith; sister, Sylvia Hopkins, and a brother, Elmer Cassell. She retired from the United Elastic Corporation, and for a number of years wrote a weekly column for The Enterprise in Stuart, entitled, "Mountain Echoes." She was a member of Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are one daughter, Gail Pilson Keith of Stuart; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fredrick Cassell of Hillsville and James Cassell of Vesta; and three sisters, Lessie Thomas of North Carolina, Dovie Legus of Richmond and Fran Hines of Birmingham, Ala. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Dan River Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will follow in the Cassell family cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Moody Funeral Home in Stuart is in charge of arrangements.

Martin of Buchanan; brother and sister-in-law, Owen A. and Betty Price of Salem; sisters, Lillian P. Myers and Lois P. Reid both of Blacksburg; sister-in-law, Jeanette Price of Christiansburg; also many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends that he loved dearly. Horatio Dwight Quessenberry, 86, was remembered at memorial services held Sept. 5 at the West Jefferson United Methodist Church. Rev. Hayward Morrison and Rev. A.B. Weaver officiated. Burial followed in the Cranberry Cemetery in Laurel Springs. Mr. Quessenberry was born in Floyd County, Va. to Percy and Ola Quessenberry. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Reeves Quessenberry. He was a member of the West Jefferson United Methodist Church. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 1934 and was a member of the Masonic Lodge. He served in the U.S. Army as a captain in infantry, he was a World War II veteran where he served in Germany, Italy and France. He worked for the Surry County, N.C. Public School System as a teacher. During the 1940s, Mr. Quessenberry served as the Ashe County, N.C. Agricultural Extension Agent. During the 1950s, he served as a livestock specialist in Raleigh with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture until his retirement in 1976. He is survived by his son, Frank Quessenberry, West Jefferson; three daughters, Barbara Derman, East Lansing, Mich., Betsy Griffin, Joplin, Mo., and Marion Hinson, Marshville; and five grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the West Jefferson United Methodist Church, PO Box 826, West Jefferson, NC 28694. Badger Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

She was a member of the West Jefferson United Methodist Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, and teacher. Memorial services will be conducted at the West Jefferson United Methodist Church on Friday, March 5, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Skipper Watwood officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Cranberry Cemetery in Laurel Springs, NC. Mrs. Quessenberry is survived by her husband H.D. Eula "Judy" Knowles Ray, 74, of Meadows of Dan, died Friday, April 19, 2002, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. A Patrick County native, she was the daughter of the late Willie Knowles and Illian Boyd Knowles, and was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Mutt" Ray Sr.; a sister, Glennie Reynolds; and three brothers, Clyde, James, and Hassell "Hank" Knowles. She was a longtime member of Dan River Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Diane Ferguson of Collinsville; three sons, Roger Ray and Jeff Ray, both of Bassett and William A. "Billy" Ray Jr. of Martinsville; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Cassie McPeak of Meadows of Dan; and four brothers, Pete Knowles and Kennard Knowles, both of Ohio, Arnold Knowles of Sterling and Virgil Knowles of Martinsville. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Elder Donnie Conner officiating. Burial will be in the Knowles-Eden family cemetery. William A. "Mutt" Ray, 80, of Cherry Creek Rd., Meadows of Dan, died Friday, December 8, 2000, at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County. He was born on June 5, 1920 in Patrick County and was a son of the late Charlie and Sarah Joyce Ray. He was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. He served in the U.S. Army in the 27th Infantry Division during World War II. He had been self employed as a floor finisher, and was a member of Hillsville VFW Post 1115. He was of the Christian faith. Surviving are his wife, Eula Knowles Ray of the home; one daughter, Diane Ferguson of Collinsville; three sons, Roger Ray and Jerry Ray, both of Bassett, and William A. "Billy" Ray Jr. of Martinsville; one brother, Ed Ray of Hillsville and five grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday at Moody Funeral Home in Stuart with Dr. Calvin Raines officiating. Burial, with military rites by the Patrick County Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, was in the Knowles-Eden family cemetery. Jean Delsie Light Sarver, 83, of Moneta, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2004, surrounded by her family at her side. Born July 24, 1920 in Meadows of Dan, Va., she was the second of eleven children born to the late Jim and Pearl Light, formerly of Patrick county. She lived her whole life in Patrick, Roanoke, and Bedford counties. She chose to lead a full and gratifying life of homemaking. Her love of flower and vegetable gardening gave her many hours of pleasure, nurturing the things she grew, preserving them for winter, keeping and using them to prepare countless meals for the family, and her extended family, whenever they came for a visit. Her life was centered around entertaining family at home and teaching her children and grandchildren to cook. She loved to travel. Other's well-being always came first in her mind. She was a long-time member of Belmont Christian Church in Roanoke, and retired after 17 years with Roanoke City Public Schools, working with children with special needs. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister, Clyde, Hill, and Lillian Belcher. She was a devoted wife of 62 years of a most devoted husband, Walter Sarver. Also surviving are three daughters, Earldeen Rorrer of Spencer, Va., Susanne Sigman and her husband Bob, of Charlottesville, Janette Burggrabe and her husband Charles, of Indiana; five sons, A. Richard and his wife Sandy, of Martinsville, Robert and his wife Brenda, of Richmond, Nelson and his wife Missy, of Roanoke, Larry and his wife Nora, of Roanoke, Gregory and his wife Christine, of Roanoke; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; five sisters and one brother, Lola Manning, Lois Sutton, Beulah Rigney, June Anne Sigmon, Jewel Alderman, Albert "Bud" Light. The funeral services will be conducted from Belmont Christian Church at 1 p.m. Tuesday, February 24, 2004, with the Rev. David Walton officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. Sears; and a granddaughter, Beverly Gail Nance. She is survived by a daughter, Barbara Lee of Clovis; a grandson, Bob Lee (and wife, Janie) of Galveston, Texas; two great-grandsons, Robert Lee IV and William Lee; and three great-great-grandchildren, Allison, Brittney and Trent. Mr. Elmer Lee Sehen, 69, of Meadows of Dan, passed away Monday, February 25, 2008 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Patrick County on July 24, 1938 to the late Bert Sehen and Faye VanSutphen Sehen. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sehen was preceded in death by two brothers, Harvey and Wesley Sehen, and an infant sister. Mr. Sehen retired from the United States Air Force as a Senior Master Sergeant, and had retired from the City of Danville at the Talbort Dam in Patrick County. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of VFW Post 8467 in Meadows of Dan. Mr. Sehen is survived by his wife of 47 years, Shelma Joan Garrett Sehen, of the home; four daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Mark Clarke of Richmond, Rhonda and David Hughes of Bassett, Sonja and Allen Richards of Boones Mill, and Erica and Michael Sleboda of Roanoke; twelve grandchildren, Ezra, Moriah, Hannah, Sarah, Lucas, Cole, Isaiah, Micah, Judah, Jon, Jacob and Mikey; one great-grandson, Bryson; three sisters, Eleanor Young of Collinsville, Shirley Lott of Vesta and Hazel Martin of Bassett; and two brothers, Carl Sehen of Meadows of Dan and John Sehen of Dobson, North Carolina. Funeral services for Mr. Sehen will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Meadows of Dan Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Shockley officiating. Born March 12, 1933, in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of Percy Lee Sigmon and Bernice Cook Sigmon. He lived all of his life in Danville. He worked as a long distance truck driver for Roy Stone Trucking and later worked as a pipe fitter with Dan River Inc. where he retired on disability. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was of the Holiness faith and was a former member of the Moose Club. He was married to June Light Sigmon. In addition to his wife of the residence, he is survived by four daughters, Audrey Chilton and Kimberly Moore, both of Danville, Tammy Hancock of Pelham, N.C., and Patricia Howell of Danville; one son, Gary Howell of Danville; two sisters, Cornelia Bridwell of Baltimore, Md., and Elizabeth Boothe of Danville; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one daughter, Annette Sigmon and five brothers. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Church of the Living God, Edmond St., with the Rev. Hassell Priddy officiating. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and was awarded a Bronze Star for participating with his squadron in the landing on Omaha Beach in Normandy on VE Day. He also was awarded The European-African-Middle Eastern Service Ribbon with four other Bronze Stars, and the Purple Heart medal for his participation in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Spangler was one of a team of 16 at the U.S. Army Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center at Fort Belvoir responsible for developing the U.S. Tactical Floating Bridge. He was a 40-year resident of Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia, where he worked for the federal government at the Engineer Research and Development Laboratory at Fort Belvoir. He was a member of Meadows of Dan Ruritan Club, Vesta Rescue Squad and VFW Post #8467, and a 60-year member of Meadows of Dan Baptist Church. He was born in Patrick County on April 16, 1923, to the late Charles (''Tump"") Spangler and the late Kittie Cockram Spangler. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Tom Spangler. He is survived by his wife, Thelma Handy Spangler, who was his teenage sweetheart; two daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Bohning of Atlanta, Ga., and Mrs. Vicki Perry of Lebanon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Chris Satchel, and Mark, Tracy and Jennifer Bohning; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Young of Greenwood, S.C., and four brothers, Maurice Spangler of Bristol, Tenn., Harvie Spangler of Ruckersville, Bishop Spangler of San Diego, Calif., and Pat Spangler of Gainesville, Fla. Blacksburg - John William Sutphin, 70, died in a Roanoke hospital yesterday. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Louis Sutphin; two daughters, Mrs. Ray Lupold, Christiansburg; Mrs. G. B. Leeson, Blacksburg; three sons, Roy L. and Clarence (Ike) Sutphin, both of Blacksburg; Glenn W. Sutphin, Glasgow, Mont.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, Tom Sutphin, Iager, W. Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Rettie Keith, Pulaski; Mrs. Cassie Smith, Mrs. Emma Harvey, both of Johnson City, Tenn. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Christiansburg Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery there. The body is at the home.

PITTSBURG, Kan. - John W. Tisdale, a retired auto shop foreman, died Saturday in Pittsburg. He was 72. Graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Mr. Tisdale was born in Spartanburg, S.C. He worked for Ernest Allen Chevrolet for 16 years and for Vandergriff Chevrolet in Arlington for 17 years. Survivors: Wife, Wilma Tisdale of Pittsburg; son, John W. Tisdale Jr. of Fort Worth; stepson, Charles Harrell of Tyler; two stepdaughters, Glenda Kay Best and Judy Ann Bicknell, both of Pittsburg; brother, Fred Tisdale of Spartanburg, S.C.; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

Wilma Harrell Tisdale, 92, of Pittsburg, died at 10:10 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, 2006, at the home of her daughter. She was born Sept. 29, 1914, at Willis, Va., to Charles Wade and Lucy Elena Akers Knowles. She moved with her family to Kansas by wagon when she was a young girl. She graduated from Grenola High School. Following high school, she attended Emporia State University and graduated with a bachelor of science in education degree. Later, she received her master's degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas. She married Oscar Bayne "Tex" Harrell May 28, 1938. He preceded her in death on March 27, 1950. On Nov. 19, 1968, she married John William Tisdale. He preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1993. She worked for the Fort Worth Public School system, where she was a teacher for the blind and special education. She moved to Pittsburg 20 years ago from Fort Worth, Texas. She was of Methodist faith. Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Best of rural Pittsburg and Judy Bicknell of Pittsburg; a sister, Helen Flaharty of McCune; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, a brother, Herbert Knowles, and a son, Dr. Charles Bayne "Charlie" Harrell. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Brenner Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Ken Butts of the College Heights United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. Friday to sign the register. Following the services, the body will be cremated and her cremains will be buried at a later date in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. Fourth St., Pittsburg.

Mrs. Pete Truchot Passes Away at Newberg, Ore. Mrs. Pete C. Truchot, nee Grace malone, formerly of Choteau [Mont.] passed away [11-8-1946] at Newberg, Ore., [Yamhill] and was buried there Tuesday, her brother Carl malone of Choteau was informed. She had been ill for several months with a cancer ailment. Mrs. Truchot moved with her husband in 1917 to Mitchell, Ore., where he engaged in the cattle business. Six years ago the couple went to the Willamette Valley. The deceased is survived in her immediate family by a daughter and by her husband, who lives at Newberg. Pete Truchot was a partner with Carl Malone until 1917.

Electric Service with 28 years of service and was a member of the Old Timers Hunting Club. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Perdue Tuck of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Heather Tuck of Blacksburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Howard Elliott of Blacksburg, Gladys and Andrew Duncan of Pembroke, and Katherine Montague of Pennsylvania; three grandchildren, Paige, Taylor and Hunter Tuck of Blacksburg. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, October 2, 2002, at 2 p.m. in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg with Rev. Doug Kanney officiating. Mamie Knowles Turley, age 85, of Garland, and formerly of Coleman, died Monday, February 11, 2002 in a Garland hospital. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p. m. Wednesday in Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Sheffield officiating. Burial will follow in Coleman Cemetery under the direction of Stevens Funeral Home. Mrs. Turley was born June 30, 1916 in Coleman, Texas and was the daughter of the late Jim Croft and Ella Loflin Croft. She grew up and attended school in Coleman. She lived in Odessa for several years and had resided in Garland the past 35 years. In 1935 she married Riley Knowles and he died in 1972; she married Walter Turley in 1982 and he preceded her in death in 1997. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. Survivors include one son, Raymond Knowles of Garland; step-children, Betty Hunter of Coleman and Robert Knowles of Garland; one sister, Nettie McAlister of Coleman; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Pinckley. Pallbearers were Roy Knowles, Grady Boyd, Randy Thomas, Gene Converce, Durl Croft and Burl Croft.

Jack Wilson of Vesta died Saturday, December 6, 2003, at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a World War II veteran who served in the Philippines. He was retired from Carbon Fuel Coal Company and Carver Career Center. Surviving are his wife, Agnes, and daughter, Pat, of Vesta; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Mike Sullivan of Charleston, W.Va.; son and daughter-in-law, J.R. and Barbara Wilson of South Charleston, W.Va.; daughter Jennifer Frisch of Marietta, Ga.; son Joe Wilson of Wake Forest, N.C.; and 13 grandchildren; his brother, Roy Knowles of Stuart; brother and sister-in-law Pat and Barbara Knowles of Meadows of Dan; and sister and brother-in-law, Albert and Kathleen Layman of Stuart. There will be no funeral, but a private memorial service will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 238, Vesta, Va. 24177.
