DESLOGE, LORIEL JOHNSON, passed away at her residence, on Sun., July 23, 2000; beloved wife of the late William Livingston Desloge; dearest mother of Loriel D. Hogan, William L. Desloge Jr., Diane D. Clarke, Stephen R. Desloge, Christopher D. Desloge and the late David Halsey Desloge; loving grandmother of Marion, Cliff, Loriel, Aasha, Chris, David, Rebecca, Peter, Molly, Teddy, William, Christopher and Raymond; dear great-grandmother of Annalies, Claudia, Halsey and Ryan; dear mother-in-law and aunt. A Memorial Service will be conducted at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 110 N. Warson Rd. at Ladue Rd., Ladue, on Thurs., July 27 at 10:30 a.m. The interment at Calvary Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to the Desloge Foundation, The Loriel J. Desloge Fund for the benefit of Nantucket Conservation & Beautification, c/o 22 Foreway Dr., St. Louis, 63124. Loriel J. Desloge, a former community volunteer in St. Louis, died Sunday (July 23, 2000) at her home in Ladue after a long illness. She was 85. In the 1950s, Mrs. Desloge was a regional chairwoman of the Greater St. Louis Community Chest, now the United Way of Greater St. Louis. She was also a longtime member of the St. Louis Country Club and the Nantucket Yacht Club, and a past board member of the Service Bureau, a charitable group in Ladue. A native of Bronxville, N.Y., she has lived in the St. Louis area since 1937. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 110 North Warson Road, Ladue. Burial will be private. Mrs. Desloge's husband, William Livingston Desloge, a local business executive and civic leader, died in 1998. Among the survivors are two daughters, Loriel D. Hogan of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Rindge, N.H., and Diane D. Clarke of Hingham, Mass.; three sons, William L. Desloge Jr. of Brasov, Romania, Stephen R. Desloge of Wilton, Conn., and Christopher D. Desloge of Darien, Conn.; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the Desloge Foundation and the Loriel J. Desloge Fund for the benefit of Nantucket Conservation and Beautification, 22 Foreway Drive, St. Louis, Mo. 63124.
