Grimwood, Donald D., 81, retired president of Sedgwick State Bank in Sedgwick, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004 at Presbyterian Manor Healthcare Center in Wichita. He was born July 26, 1923, to Thomas Jerry and Henrie Lou(Young) Grimwood in Newton. They preceded him in death. He married Dorothy Mae Nelson June 8, 1947, in Lindsborg. She preceded him in death Nov. 28, 1978. He married Lucile (Tinsley) Honn on June 14, 1980, in Sedgwick. She survives of Wichita. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Sedgwick where he served as a church elder, deacon, treasurer and choir member. He was past commander of the Hicks-Davison American Legion Post No. 268 in Sedgwick. He was a former Sedgwick City councilman and school board member. He also was a member of the Sedgwick Booster Club. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater as a medic. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star. Military honors presented by the Fort Riley Colorguard.

Everita Virginia Martin, 84, passed away September 10, 2003, at Timpanogos Hospital in Orem, Utah. Everita was born on December 17, 1918, in Paris, Texas, the daughter of Everett and Calla Utt Talbert. Everita was raised in Pratt, Kansas and later moved to Winslow, Arizona, where she graduated from high school. She married Sharman "A" Jensen on July 6, 1937. To this union was born three sons - Dale, Fred and Carl. In her early years, she enjoyed singing, outdoor activities and sports. After moving back to Pratt, Everita worked at International Harvester Company. Her second marriage was to Merle George Martin of Pratt, on December 4, 1954. They farmed eight miles southeast of Pratt in the Glendale Community. Everita was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, the Glendale EHU and the Stitch and Chatter Quilting Club. She was an avid knitter and quilter.
