DEPOSITION I
Case of Thos. Longley, No. 501,953

On this 21 day of Aug., 1902 at Stockport, county of Morgan, state of Ohio, before me, N.E. Luckey, a special examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Isaac hook, who, being, by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:

I am 83 years of age, P.O. address as above, no occupation.

I knew Thos Longley and he lived in my neighborhood. His father was a servant of mine and I knew Thos Longley and met him often up to the time he went into the service. I was away during the war, and made Hooksburg my home and returned every month or six weeks.

Thos Longley was in good health and stout and sound when he went away to the war and he never had had any disease or disability that I ever knew or heard of. When I was away, his father managed my store and cooper shop.

No, I never knew or heard that he had any diarrhea piles or lung disease. He was closely associated with my family and lived within 100 yards of me.

I don't recollect whether he came back to Hooksburg after the war or not.

I have heard the foregoing read; it is correct. No relation; no interest.

I N Hook
Deponent.

Sworn to and subscribed before me this 21 day of Aug, 1902 and I certify that the contents were fully made known to deponent before signing.

N.E. Luckey
Special Examiner
