DEPOSITION G
Case of Thos. Longley, No. 501,953

On this 21 day of Aug., 1902 at Hooksburg, county of Morgan, state of Ohio, before me, N.E. Luckey, a special examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Saml W Scott, who, being, by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:

I am 80 years of age, P.O. address as above, farmer

I knew Thos Longley who was raised in this neighborhood and went to school here and remained until he went into the army. He lived a mile or so from me. I was not in the army. I knew Longley well before the war and often met him. I don't recollect the time he went into the army and I didn't know he was gone until I heard of it after he had left here and I never saw him after his return from the army.

During my acquaintance with Longley he was sound and in good health and he never had any disease or disability that I knew of. No, I never knew that Thos Longley had ever been injured in his leg or otherwise or that he had any sun-stroke. No, I never knew or heard that Thos Longley had diarrhea or piles or disease of the lungs.

The words "he" and "he had" were erased and the words "I knew of" interlined before I signed this statement.

I have heard this read it is correct. No relation; no interest.

S H Scott
Deponent.

Sworn to and subscribed before me this 21 day of Aug, 1902 and I certify that the contents were fully made known to deponent before signing.

N.E. Luckey
