On this 22 day of Aug., 1902 near Shrine (sp?), county of Morgan, state of Ohio, before me, N.E. Luckey, a special examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Geo B Chogwill, who, being, by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:
I am 59 years of age, P.O. address as above, farmer.
I was a pvt of Co F 77 Ohio Inf. Nov. 61 to Mar 66.
I had known Thos. Longley as a member of my company but I did not know him before his enlistment and I did not know anything of him after the war. We did not mess or bunk together, but we were together in service to May 16/64 when I was made a prisoner.
Q. Do you know of any disease wound or injury that Thos Longley had.
A. I think he was sick at Marietta where he had measles, but I don't recall any other disability that he had.
Q. Did he have diarrhea, Pile, or lung disease.
A. All I know is that he complained to me of diarrhea at different times in service. I think he first made this complaint at Pittsburg Landing. No, I don't recollect that he was discharged and sent home. He was a musician. I don't recollect when or where he complained of diarrhea but he made the complaint to me at different times and places after we were at Pittsburg Landing. I have heard the statement of claimant but I do not recall anything regarding any disability that Longley had in addition to what I have already herein above stated.
I have heard this read it is correct no relations, no interest.
