DEPOSITION D
Case of Thos. Longley, No. 501,953

On this 22 day of Aug., 1902 at Shrine (sp?), county of Morgan, state of Ohio, before me, N.E. Luckey, a special examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Thos Rowland, who, being, by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:

I am 74 years of age, P.O. address as above, farmer.

I was a corporal of Co F 77 Ohio Inf. Nov/61 to Mar '66 (?/ 65!

I had no acquaintance with Thos Longley until after his enlistment into my company. We did not mess or bunk together but were stationed together and met each other all the time in service.

Q. Do you know of any wound injury or disease that Thos Longley had in service.

A. He was a musician and was discharged in '62 and he re-enlisted. I didn't see him at any time after I was taken prisoner in '64. No. I don't recollect that Longley had any diarrhea piles or lung disease at any time.

I have heard read the statement of the clmt. but I am unable to recall anything of any disability that Thos Longley had at any time. I had had measles and was left behind and did not rejoin my company until a few days before the regiment left Paducah Ky and I think that at that time Longley was with the musicians and I don't recollect any thing of any sickness or disability that he had.

The words Paducah Ky were interlined before I signed this statement. I have heard this read it is correct. no relation; no interest.

Thomas Rowland
Deponent.

Sworn to and subscribed before me this 22 day of Aug, 1902 and I certify that the contents were fully made known to deponent before signing.
