I am 68 years of age, P.O. address as above, farmer
I was a pvt of Co F, 77 Ohio Inf from Dec '61 to Mch '66.
I had known Thos Longley and we had been running to dances and one thing and another for four or five years and we then lived about four miles apart up to our enlistment into Co F.
He had no disease or disability and I never knew him to be sick any before he went into the army.
We did not mess or bunk together but we were right together most of the time in service.
Q. Do you know of any disease wound or injury that he had in service.
A. No, I dont remember of any. He was sick once and we thought he was going to die, but I don't know where he was sick or what was the matter with him. I never did see him after we came out of the army.
Q. Did he have diarrhea piles or lung disease.
A. He had a cough in service toward the last but I don't know when or where this was. Oh, yes he had diarrhea at Brownsville, Texas. he was off from duty and I knew he had it as I often met him on the sick and in that way noticed it. I don't know of any other disability that he had. No, I don't remember how long he had diarrhea.
I have heard read the statement of clmt and I now recall that he was sick and came near dying at Alton ill and that McKibben and Hamble went home with him.
No, I did not know what was the matter with him and I can't recall anything of any disability that he had.
I never knew or heard that he had had any piles diarrhea or lung disease before he enlisted.
