Hon. Commissioner of Pensions,
Washington,
D.C.

Sir: -
I have the honor to submit my report and to return herewith the papers in the above ???? pension claim.

Claim was referred to S.E.Division, to merit of claim based on diarhea and piles and to determine whether the soldier was free from disease of being prior to his first enlistment.

Herewith will be found the best evidence obtainable in my Dist. There is no evidence tending to show that soldier had even had disease of lungs or any other disease prior to his enlistment into Co F, 77 Ohio Inf. Nor is there much evidence showing that he had diarrhea in service and little showing the existence of diarrhea or piles subsequent to his discharge in 1866 and before his removal to Minn. in 1868.

Of the persons named in Summary of Report #1 the following named are dead -- Greenbury Rowland, Jno M D Beswick and W H H Bingham; and Jno Hook. Wm McKibben is living, but he is a mental wreck and has been ever since he came out of the army. He is at the home of a brother and is kept confined in a room or barred cage.

The persons who have testified before me appear to be truthful an unbiased and none of them have seen claimant since he left Morgan Co., Ohio about 1868. They all have good reputations, but Saml Scott has a poor memory.

Further examination does not seem to be justified or necessary and I submit the claim for the consideration of the Chief of the Board of Review.

I personally interviewed the following named persons comrades of soldier but none of them was in posession of material information:
Joseph J. Henry, Henry L Pugh, Jesse Vaughn, Andrew Walker, and Jno Scott, and Jno. S. Blind, Saul J. Henry of list is dead.

Very Respectfully,
N. E. Luckey
Special Examiner
