A story told by Ruben Cate, Baldwin's grandson: 'If you work for Baldwin, he would have you sit in a briar patch as not to take too long of a break.' Baldwin deeded the land for Baldwin Cate Cemetery to Dumplin Church for burial ground for his heirs and community. This cemetery located on Baldwin Cate Rd., Jefferson Co., TN, has over 100 graves of family of Baldwin and two sisters, Annie (Cate) Koontz, and Elizabeth "Betty" (Cate) Snyder families. The Cemetery remains a common tie for this family and is extremely well kept.

Dawson has a son Ollie marrying Billie Johnson but he isn't on any of the censuses & would have to have been born after the 1880 census & Sarah Malinda, the youngest on the 1880 census was born in 1866. The Ollie birth & death in the Baldwin Cemetery Records was born 13 Sep 1884. Sarah would have been 60. RBP

According to Dawson, Baldwin's wife is Sallie Davis of Virginia, sister of Millwright Davis of Thorn Grove, Knox Co., TN.
