She was born in Iowa April 1, 1852, and was 67 years old at the time of her death. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the home, Rev. Wm. Murchie having charge of the service. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery beside a son who died last fall.
     Obituary of Catherine L. Watson appeared on 27 February 1920 at The Sun, Red Oak, Montgomery County, Iowa, as follows: Mrs. J. N. Fate, one of the early settlers of this county, died at her home Tuesday night, Feb. 24, 1920, from asthma, after sickness of three weeks. The funeral will be held at the home this (Friday) afternoon, Rev. Wm. Murchie, of the United Presbyterian church, preaching the sermon. Burial will be in Red Oak cemetery. Catherine L. Watson was born in Pottawattamie county, April 1, 1852, and was married Oct. 14, 1880, to J. N. Fate, who survives. She had lived near here all her life. She is survived by the following children; Mrs. C. E. Kasell, Henning, Minn; Mrs. Will Bishop, and Mrs. Sumner Bishop, of Elliott; J. M. Fate, of Poplar, Mont; Mrs. C. U. Sampson, O. F. Fate and Miss Daisy Fate, of Red Oak. She also leaves two sisters, Mr. T. W. Ritchie, Panora, Iowa, and Mrs. Margaret Osler, Council Bluffs, and two brothers, J. D. Watson, of Macedonia, and Andrew Watson, of Missouri. Mrs. Fate was a member of the Christian church and a good woman. Many friends extend sympathy to the sorrowing relatives.
