We see both John Corboy and Cornelius Corboy living within three doors of each other in Clay Township, Highland County, Ohio. Cornelius (31) is living with his wife Mary (24) and children Stephen (2) and Kate (1) in dwelling 716, family 714.

Still close to each other in Clay, the households of Cornelius and John have grown. Living with Cornelius is Bridget Corboy, identified as Cornelius' mother. She is 75. Are John and Cornelius brothers or cousins?

Cornelius (note spelling) has remained in Clay, but John has moved. Note that Bridget is still living with Cornelius. It is interesting that she has been with him now since at least 1870; where was she in 1860? She does not seem to have been living in Clay.

Stephen, oldest son of Cornelius, is now married. He and his wife Lavinia, age 24, are also living in Center Township [Dwelling 140, corrected to 143, Family 144 corrected to 152]. It is interesting, in view of the age difference between Stephen and Lavinia, that while the correct year 1859 is given for Stephen, his age is said to be 31. They do not have children yet, although they have been married four years. Stephen is a Court Stenographer.

Kate Corboy is head of household in Valparaiso. With her are her sister Margaret and her father Cornelius. The house and family # are erroneously beside Margaret's name. Kate is secretary at the University. This is one of the harder census pages to read.

John Corboy, age 39, born 1871, brother of Kate and Stephen, lives in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, IN. He is a widower now, so he must have married and been widowed since 1900. He is a salesman, it looks like pianos.

Kate is still head of house and still a secretary at the University. With her in 1920 are her sister Margaret; her brother, Stephen P. (divorced from Lavinia); Stephen C. (Lavinia and Stephen's older son); and Phillip J. Corboy, a nephew. This is a bit of a puzzle. This census was taken January 10; the census that shows Philip with Lavinia was also taken in January. Was Philip travelling back and forth between parents?

Kate and her two siblings Margaret and Stephen are still in Valparaiso in 1930. Philip, Stephen's son, lives with them (family indexed under Catharine Carboy). Kate is still a secretary at the University; none of the others has an occupation entered.
