Donald Fay, at 65; WWII Navy veteran

Donald Fay, 65, of Grela Terrace, a retired 15-year head housekeeper at Belchertown State School, died Wednesday at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Providence, R.I.
|
He retired in 1989. He had also been a forklift operator at the former Uniroyal plant in Chicopee for 38 years.

Born in this town, he lived here all his life. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, and saw action in the Mediterranean theater.
|
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Granby.
|
He leaves his daughter, Joyce Fay, with whom he made his home; a stepdaughter, Dorothy Smola of Blounstown, Fla.; two brothers, Roy of Amherst and Harold of Chicopee; four sisters, Katherine King and Mabel Ely of Belchertown, Carrie Palady of Colonie, N.Y., and Elsie Zinkham of Eastlake, Ohio, and a granddaughter.

The funeral will be Monday evening at Beers & Story Funeral Home, with burial Tuesday at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Calling hours are Monday afternoon and evening before the funeral.
