Dunham was the grandson of Josiah Dunham Fay and Eva Golson. Auburn University was founded in 1856; I am not sure whether this family had a hand in the early years of the school. There was no picture in the "Records from Alabama Newspaper Files" although there clearly was one in the original.

DUNHAM FAY GOLSON
   
Dunham Fay Golson (picture), who was graduated last week at Auburn with highest honors, was awarded the Hutchinson medal for excelence [sic] in inventive machine design which is offered annually by Dr. M. A. Hutchinson, of Orange, N. J., Auburn alumnus and noted inventor. Young Golson, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Hillary J. Golson [sic] of Prattville, is a member of Tan Beta Pi and Phi Kappa Phi honorary fraternities and of Theta Kappa Nu Social fraternity. He is well known in Birmingham and frequently has been a visitor in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank J. Stayton.
