In 1800, Henry is 30 and Betsey is 25. They have three small daughters (Harriet, Betsey, and Maria); and one son (Henry). Also in their household are a male 10-15 and one 16-25. These do not seem to be Henry's brothers, since they are all accounted for.

Henry is 40, Betsey 35. Two sons under 10 (Jonathan, David), one son 10-15 (Henry); two daughters under 10 (Laura, Mary), two 10-15 (Betsey, Maria). The two extra males from the 1800 census are gone.

Henry died in 1818, and in 1820, Betsey is recorded as head of house. With her are two sons under 10 (Nathan and David), one 10-15 (Jonathan); two daughters under 10 (Mary, Caroline), one 10-15 (Laura), one 16-26 (Betsey), one 26-45 (Maria). Henry, the eldest son, would now be 23, and he is not with Betsey. He does not seem to have his own household yet, so he is probably working on a farm in the area, and is recorded merely as an inhabitant of someone else's household.

With Betsey are now only Nathan (20-30)and two girls, Mary (15-20) and Caroline (10-15).

Sons Jonathan and Henry T. have their own households now. Henry is married and has two sons under 5, thus born between 1825 and 1830. Jonathan's household shows him with a wife and another male 20-30; my guess is that this is David.

1840
Jonathan has his own household, as does Nathan. Not listed in 1840 are David and Henry T. It is known that David and Henry did not remain in Vermont all the time; both were out of the state around 1825, for example. In 1840, I think that Henry T. is in Pennsylvania. Both Caroline and Laura Ann are married; Caroline lives in Richmond, and Laura Ann is in Richford, Franklin County. It isn't clear where Betsey is in 1840. She does not seem to head a household in Richmond; and she is not with Jonathan or Nathan, or with Laura Ann Davis or Caroline Pattee. Betsey did have other daughters, and it is possible that Betsey is living with one of them. I have not been able to establish this, however.

1850
1850 finds Nathan and Jonathan in Richmond, Betsey living with Laura Ann Davis.
