WAPPINGERS FALLS - Gerald E. Fay, 80, of Wappingers Falls, died January 31, 2008 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. He had been a Programmer at IBM, East Fishkill and Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1990. A lifetime local resident, he was a member of Poughkeepsie Elks #275 and the Wappingers Knights of Columbus. He had served in the United States Navy and was a member of St. Mary's Church. Family was very important to him, he gave to charities he felt were important and loved to do crossword puzzles. Born July 14, 1927 in Poughkeepsie, he was the son of Ralph and Mildred Terwilliger Fay. He was a graduate of Poughkeepsie High School and received his BA from Marist College. In Nov. 8, 1952 at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers, he married Eileen Pigliacampi, who predeceased him on Dec. 10, 2001.Survivors include daughter, Roxanne Fay, Stormville, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Laurie Fay, Red Hook, NY; son, Richard Fay, Wappingers Falls, NY; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Linda Fay, Spokane, WA; nine grandsons and one granddaughter; and a sister, Clara Martynak, Boston, MA. He was predeceased by his brother, Ralph Fay and sister, Dolly Gephart. Calling hours will be held from 48pm, Feb. 4, 2008 at Timothy P. Doyle Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Ave., Poughkeepsie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Feb. 5, 2008 at St. Mary's Church, Wappingers Falls, at 10:00 am. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wappingers Falls, NY at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to Feed The Children, PO Box 36, Oklahoma City, OK 73101-0036.
