[CHARLES L. FAY]
   
Charles L. Fay was stricken with an apoplectic shock on Sunday, August 20, and remained unconscious until he passed away the following day. He was a veteran of the Civil War, having served two years and nine months in the 14th and 24th regiments. He was born in Southboro, Mass., August 10, 1823, making him 82 years and 11 days old. The funeral was held at the home of his son, Loren E. Fay, on Wednesday at 2 p.m. Mr. Fay was a believer in the Advent faith. Rev. J. A. Reed conducted the services and his remarks were very interesting. Singing by the Reed family. John H. Emmons was funeral director and Albion Braley, James P. Reed, Frank C. Sargent and I. C. Perkins, bearers. Internment in the Center cemetery. He is survived by a widow, nine children, 16 grandchildren, two great grandchildren and a brother. Those present from out of town were Mrs. C. E. Moore, Haverhill, Mass.; Mrs. Sarah E. Boyce and four children, Elwin E. Fay, Ervin E. Fay, Mr. and Mrs. Averill S. Fay, Arthur E. Hutchinson of West Derry; Ulysses G. Fay of Hanover.
