Edgar S. Fay, 79, died suddenly Saturday at his home in Oxford. A native of Derry, he had earlier lived in Danbury, East Andover and Grafton, and in Fairlee, Vt.
Mr. Fay was a retired employe of the Boston and Maine Railroad, which he served for nearly 50 years.
He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Julia (Fay) Hamel of Gossville; five sons, Elmer Fay of Fairlee, Arthur and Harry Fay of Long Island, N.Y.; Harold Fay of Florissant, Mo., and Percy Fay of West Lebanon; three step-children, 20 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Locke and Mrs. Etta Perkins of Concord; nieces and nephews.

Services for Edgar Fay of Oxford, who died Oct. 15 at his home with Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Lackey, were held Wednesday at Oxford Congregational Church. Rev. Raymond Amnott of the Advent Christian Church in Newbury, Vt., officiated and conducted committal services in the Fairlee, Vt., cemetery. Mrs. Adams was organist.
Bearers were three grandsons, Guy Mathews Jr., Bruce Mathews, Larry Mathews and Leroy Lackey, Douglas Lackey and Freeman Tuttle Jr.
