Ora Mae Mayabb was the daughter of William and Rosa Hulbert Mayabb. She was born in March, 1893, according to the census of 1900, where we see her with her parents. In 1910, I have not been able to find her. Her oldest son, Clayton, was born October, 1911; so she may or may not have been married already at the time of the census in 1910. She may have been out in service like her sister Bessie; or she may be married. But she does not appear under any of the many name variants I have checked. |
She married a Wellsted man; I do not know what his first name was. Clayton was born in 1911, and Goldie in 1914. Sometime after that, Wellsted died. By 1920, Ora has remarried, and with husband George O'Rourke, is living in the household of Henry and Fannie O'Rourke, George's parents. Both Goldie and Clayton are there. The census does not show any children for George and Ora, although Stella had been born a month earlier, according to her obituary. |
In 1930, George is head of house; his father Henry is living with him, along with Ora, and Stella, 10, and George, almost 8, the two children of George and Ora. Also in the household are Clayton, and Goldie, now married to Terrence Denton. They were married within the last year; she was 15 at the time of marriage, is now 16. Their child, as far as I know their only child, Ada May Denton, would be born in September of 1930.

I have not been able to find a death record for Ora or George O'Rourke. |
