OBITUARIES
   
Robert LeRoy Fay, 78, of Topeka passed away St. Francis Hospital in Topeka. He was born June 12, 1928 the son of Carl and Jeanette Billups Fay. He attended Holliday Junior High and Topeka High School. He was a member of United Rubber Workers Union. He worked for Goodyear over 46 years before retiring in 1989. He and his wife Charlene were foster parents to over 133 children, over a 33 years. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Fay was also a member of Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF&AM. He was married July 29, 1949 at Topeka to Charlene Bell Survivors include his wife Charlene and son John R. Fay of the their home in Topeka, seven additional children, Robert E. Fay and wife Wanda, Richard D. Fay of Overland Park, KS; Ronald K. Fay and wife Sarah of Topeka, Randall K. Fay and wife Jodi of Topeka, Joni M. Fay of Blue Springs, MO, Keri L. Fay of Topeka and Kristi A. Fay of Topeka; four brothers, Carl E. Fay, George W. Fay, Paul D. Fay and John E. Fay all of Topeka; two sisters, Doris Collins of Scranton and Mary C. Clark of Topeka; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Olive Bell. The family will receive friends from 7-8 pm Thursday evening at Davidson Funeral Home. Cremation will follow the visitation. Memorial services will be held Friday, Feb. 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Lutheran Church, 4211 NW Topeka Blvd.

Charlene Fay passed into eternal rest Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Manor Care Health Services facility, following an extended illness. She was born September 22, 1931, the daughter of George William and Luetta Mae (McNall) Bell at Carrollton, Mo. She attended school in the Bogard, MO public school system. In 1949, her brother, Floyd introduced her to Robert LeRoy Fay. After a short courtship, they were married July 29, 1949. Bob preceded her in death in February of 2007. They were very active as foster parents for more than 30 years, providing a loving and caring home environment to over 200 children. Charlene was an avid seamstress, making many of the clothes her family proudly wore. In her later years, she turned her sewing skills to quilt making, providing lasting memories for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by eight children. Bob(Wanda), Rick, Ron(Sarah), Randy(Jodi), Joni, Keri, Kristi and John. Additional survivors include nineteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, August 28th at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka, Kansas with cremation to follow. Inurnment will be at Topeka Cemetery, next to her beloved Bob. She will lie in state at Davidson from 1-9 pm on Monday, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 pm. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Topeka Association for Retarded Citizens (TARC).

Betti M. Fay went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born June 21, 1950 in Topeka, Ks to Carl & Arlene Stocker Fay. She worked at the VA Hospital & Target. She was a long time member of Fairlawn Church of The Nazarene. Left to cherish her loving memory are daughters Tami & Brandi Odom, her father Carl & Edna Fay, sister Cheri Atchley niece & nephew. And many other close friends and family members. She was preceded in death by her mother Arlene Fay. Memorial services will be at 10:00 am at Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene, 730 SW Fairlawn, Topeka, 66608. Memorial contributions may be sent to Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene.
