Census information for Sarah Jane Fay and her family

1850

In 1850, Sarah Jane Fay is 18, and living with her father, mother and sister Eliza in Framingham, Middlesex Co. Massachusetts. Her brother Gilbert has left home already; it is not clear where he was registered for the 1850 data.

George Minott Baker, age 24, is living with sister Abby, mother Lavina, and father Jacob in Lincoln. Abigail Prescott Baker was born at Lincoln on September 13, 1823, d. 7/17/1908.

1860

Sarah Jane has married George M. Baker and they are living in Lincoln now. Two daughters are with them, Susan S. and Lavina M. "Susan" later appears as 'Sadie' and, after her marriage, as 'Sarah.' It is likely that the census recorder simply misunderstood when he wrote 'Susan.' Her birth was registered as "Sarah Snow Baker."

Sarah [S. Williams] Fay, Sarah Jane's mother, is living in Lincoln with daughter Eliza Ann, Sarah Jane's sister. Park died in 1854.

1870

In 1870, there are three children living with George and Sarah Jane. Daughter Sarah S[now] is 13 (note that she is called 'Sarah' here). Walter is 7 and Ida is 4.

1880

George and Sarah and still in Lincoln, and their three children ('Sadie' being the oldest) are still at home. Living with them is Eliza A., Sarah Jane's sister.
