Edward Marmaduke Turner Captain Born in December 1, 1836 in Walker County, Alabama and enlisted December 7, 1861 as 1st Lt.  Served early 1862 as AQM.  Wounded at Chancellorsville on May 3, 1863 as Captain and admitted to #11 Hospital in Richmond.  Returned to duty on July 31, 1863 so he wasn't present at Gettysburg.  Wounded at Bristoe Station in October, 1863 and admitted to Hospital #4 in Richmond for contusions.  Promoted to Captain and present at Andersonville as Captain.  Wounded in action around Chattahootchie River on July 4, 1864 and admitted to Lee Hospital.  Fought all the way through and paroled at Surrender, unattached to a Regiment, in Greensboro, North Carolina on April 26, 1865 (the only 1863 Captain to do so).  Lived in Greensboro, Tuscaloosa County, Alabama in 1921. 
James Paul Young 1st Lt. Born November 13, 1829 in Chester County, South Carolina and entered service as 2nd Lt. on September 5, 1861.  Promoted to 1st Lt. on December 7, 1861.  Wounded at Chancellorsville May 2-3, 1863.  Given furlough in March of 1864.  Returned and was paroled upon surrendering at Greensboro, North Carolina in April 26, 1865.  He surrendered unattached to any Regiment.  Settled in Bedford, Alabama after the war.
William B. Thompson 2nd Lt. Enlisted December 7, 1861 as 2nd Lt.  Listed himself as 2nd Senior Lt.  Wounded at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 with ball going through the upper third of the left arm causing paralysis of arm and hand. Admitted to #13 Hospital on July 4, 1862 and given 60 day furlough on October 11, 1862.  Residence listed as Military Springs, Alabama.  Resigned on March 21, 1863 due to the disability. 
Thomas Jefferson Box Color Sgt. Born in Fayette County, Alabama and enlisted September 5, 1861.  Promoted to Color Sgt.  Wounded through hip at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862.  Admitted to #9 Hospital in Richmond, Virginia and died on August 13, 1862 at age 29.  Buried in Oakwood Cemetery on August 14.  Deceased claim filed by his widow Martha A. Box.  The older brother of Private Benjamin Box by 7 years.
Samuel G. Young 1st Sgt. Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Admitted to 2nd Alabama Hospital on October 17, 1862 and returned to duty on December 4.  Wounded in right forearm at Gettysburg July 1-3, 1863 and returned to duty on September 23, 1863.  Present at Andersonville as 1st Sgt.
Elijah W. Smith 1st Sgt. Born Franklin County, Alabama and enlisted on December 7, 1861 as private with P. O. Box listed as Moscow, Marion County, Alabama.  Promoted to Sgt. on June 1, 1862.  Mortally wounded at Malvern Hill July 1, 1862 and admitted to #13 Hospital in Richmond.  Died there on July 7 at age 35.  Deceased claim filed by widow Rebecca Smith on January 14, 1863.  She also filed for relief as widow in Lamar County, Alabama on April 18, 1891.

Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Wounded as private at Chancellorsville on May 3,m 1863 with gunshot wound to tibia.  Furloughed home for 40 days to Military Springs, Alabama our of 2nd Alabama Hospital on June 12, 1863.  Present at Andersonville in April, 1864.  Surrendered as 1st Sgt. of Company E, 1st Alabama Consolidated Regiment at Greensboro, North Carolina on April 26, 1865.
W. Adam Morton 2nd Sgt. Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Acting Commissary Sgt. November, 1862.  Present at Andersonville.  Wounded at Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864 and recommended for extended medical furlough from Medical review board of Way Hospital in Okolona, Mississippi.  Surrendered at Citronville, Alabama on May 4, 1865 and paroled May 12 in Livingston, Alabama with residence listed as Fayette County, Alabama.
Robert M. Montgomery 3rd Sgt. 6 feet 2 inches tall.  Enlisted December 7, 1861.  Medically discharged on May 21, 1862 due to chronic diarrhea at age 60.
Lemuel R. Smith 3rd Sgt. Born about 1840 and enlisted September 5, 1861 and present at Andersonville as 3rd Sgt.  Younger brother of Pvts. William R. and James A. Smith.
Milligan Keenum Sgt. Born in 1825 in Fayette County.  Admitted to Camp Winder General Hospital in Richmond on May 13, 1862 due to bronchitis.  Returned to duty on June 15.  Wounded at Malvern Hill in right thigh on July 1, 1862 and eventually died in Hospital #9 in Richmond, Virginia on August 5, 1862. Deceased claim filed for both Mills and J. D. Keenum by J. T. Meadow, power of attorney, on April 28, 1863.
James Hamilton Dowdle Sgt. Born April 10, 1842 in Madison County, Alabama and enlisted September 5, 1861 as private.  As Corporal wounded in action at Chancellorsville on May 2-3, 1863 with gunshot wound to right shoulder.  Given 35 day furlough on June 5, 1863.  Listed on Roll of Honor from that battle and General order #131/3 issued October 10, 1863 for the Medal of Honor.  Present at Andersonville as 2nd Corporal.  As Sgt. wounded at Peachtree Creek on July 20, 1864 and admitted to Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, Georgia on July 22 then transferred out of there on July 30.  Paroled on May 19, 1865 with his residence as Fayette County, Alabama.  Died in Pilot Point, Denton County, Texas in April, 1908.
Amaziah Rice Sgt. Enlisted September 9, 1862.  Promoted to Sgt. and then discharged in 1863.  Re-enlisted to Toombs Battery.
Rueben L. Reddon 1st Cpl. Enlisted September 5, 1861 as private.  Promoted on June 1, 1862.  Wounded with gunshot wound to left arm at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 which broke the arm.  Present at Andersonville.  Applied for relief as maimed in Franklin County, Alabama on May 31, 1892.
J. T. Moreland 3rd Cpl. 6 feet tall  Enlisted September 5, 1861 as private.  Captured at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863 and sent to Fort Delaware and received there on July 6, 1863.  Signed oath and released on June 14, 1865 as 6 feet tall and resident of Fayette County, Alabama.
Marsillus H. Dowdle 4th Cpl. 6 feet 2 inches tall.  Born January 1, 1839 in Madison County, Alabama and enlisted on October 3, 1861 in Itawamba, Mississippi.  Died March 23, 1862 at age 23.  He was married to Missouri Catherine Cast on July 5, 1860 and had one daughter Fannie before he died.  She filed for benefits in Itawamba County, Mississippi on November 18, 1862.
Robert J. Powell, Sr. Cpl. Born in Lawrence District, South Carolina and enlisted December 7, 1861 as private.  6 feet 2 inches tall.  Promoted to Corporal on February 28, 1862.  Wounded at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 and died of his wounds on July 3 at age 39.  Deceased claim filed by his widow Elizabeth Ann Powell from Military Springs, Alabama.  She then filed for pension in Monroe County, Mississippi in 1900.
I. C. Lively Cpl. Killed in action at South Mountain on September 14, 1862.
R. Martin Cpl. Transferred from staff on October 30, 1862.  Was assistant Quarter Master and must have done something as was dropped by order of Secretary of War.
James C. Sedgely Cpl. Wounded at South Mountain as Corporal on September 14, 1862 and captured.  Thought to have been dead by Regiment until he showed up again Admitted to Chester, Pennsylvania Hospital on October 2, 1862.  Sent to Fort Delaware and then to Fort Monroe, Virginia for exchange on December 15, 1862 and returned to service.
William I. Bevis Pvt. Born in the Lauren District of South Carolina and enlisted February 7, 1862.  Discharged on August 13, 1862 due to Chronic Rheumatism at age 49.  Buried in Old Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Spring Valley, Alabama.
Benjamin F. Box Pvt. Born in Fayette County, Alabama and enlisted August 5, 1861.  Died of disease in Richmond, Virginia on April 14, 1862 at age 23.  Buried in Oakwood Cemetery April 16, 1862.  Deceased claim filed by his mother Mary Box.  Younger brother of Color Sgt. Thomas Jefferson Box who was killed at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862..
H. H. Bridges Pvt. Enlisted February 15, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in West Point, Mississippi on January 14, 1865.  the Regiment went through here after the disaster in Tennessee so it's possible he was wounded there.
G. T. Cape Pvt. Enlisted March 3, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in LaGrange, Georgia due to Rheumatism on July 4, 1864 and transferred to Andersonville on July 17.
Samuel Robert Carden Pvt. Born November 18, 1834 in Putnam County, Georgia and enlisted in 1862 in Richmond, Virginia.  Continued service until captured in Atlanta and paroled in September, 1864.  Applied for pension while living in Sulligent, Lamar County, Alabama.
Nathaniel F. Cast Pvt. Enlisted July 20, 1863.  Court martialed in Virginia for unknown reason and sentenced to 12 months hard labor and 1/2 pay in late 1863 and early 1864.
W. T. Choggin Pvt. Died of Variola Disease on June 1, 1862.
James Newell Cofield Pvt. Born January 4, 1846 in Randolph County, Alabama and enlisted January 23, 1864.  Present at Andersonville.  Resided in Lineville, Clay County, Alabama in 1921 Census.

Julius Cohen Pvt. Enlisted October 5, 1863.  Present at Andersonville and captured at Nashville on December 15, 1864 and sent to Camp Douglas on December 20.  Released on May 16, 1865 to Selma, Alabama.
Wm. Madison Corder Pvt. Born in Pickins County, Alabama and enlisted on September 5, 1861.  Furloughed home to Columbus, Fayette County, Alabama on November 10, 1862 due to chronic diarrhea and died at home on May 3, 1863 at age 25.  Deceased claim filed by his father William Corder.  Younger brother to James C. Corder of Company D.
Robert Dale Pvt. Enlisted after late April, 1864.  Admitted to Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, Georgia on June 22, 1864 and returned to duty on June 25, 1864.
Joseph D. Dowdle Pvt. Born January 3, 1846.  Enlisted after late April, 1864.  Paroled in Columbus, Mississippi on May 19, 1865 with his residence listed as Fayette County, Alabama.  Married Mary Ellen Young and had 8 children. The three Dowdle boys were brothers.
Robert P. Ferguson Pvt. Born in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama and enlisted December 7, 1861.   Admitted to Medical College of Virginia in Richmond on October 14, 1862 due to small pox.  Died December 22, 1862 at age 17.  Deceased claim filed by his father H. A. Ferguson on July 30, 1863.
Jonas O. Gallop Pvt. Born Lowndes, Mississippi and enlisted September 5, 1861.  Admitted April 17, 1862 to Chimbarazo Hospital for fractured arm.  Transferred to Danville Hospital and discharged from there on August 6, 1862 due to stiffness making arm unusable at age 36.  He applied for pension in Monroe County, Mississippi in 1902 and his widow Liza Gallop applied there in 1916.
J. W. Gallop Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861 and present at Andersonville.  Paroled on May 26, 1865 in Columbus, Mississippi.  He applied for pension in Monroe County, Mississippi in 1902.
Murphy W. Gallop Pvt. Born in Lowndes County, Mississippi and died April 24, 1862 in Banner Hospital, Richmond, Virginia.
Wilson Archibald Glasgow Pvt. Born 1823 in Newberry, South Carolina and enlisted February 16, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Died November 14, 1902 at age 81.  Buried in South Carolina Cemetery in Lamar County, Alabama.
J. H. Gordon Pvt. Died in Hospital #8 in Richmond on January 9, 1863.
Josiah Gunter Pvt. Enlisted on January 7, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Deserted on October 16, 1864 and took oath on October 24, 1864 to stay North of Ohio River until the war was over.  Residence listed as Talledega County, Alabama.
Andrew N. Hancock Pvt. Enlisted February 28, 1862.  Wounded in action at Malvern Hill July 1, 1862 with gunshot wound to right thigh at age 27.  Furloughed to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  Detailed to Hospital #23 in Richmond, Virginia May- June, 1863.  Had problems with same wound July, 1863 and hospitalized. Furloughed 30 days on August 7, 1863.  Present at Andersonville.  Wounded in left arm by ball at Battle of Ezra Church on July 28, 1864 and admitted to Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, Georgia on July 29.  Ball was not extracted and returned to duty on November 23, 1864.  Paroled on May 27, 1865 in Columbus, Mississippi and sent home to Fayetteville, Alabama.  Older brother by 5 years of Andrew N. Hancock.
Elijah J. Hancock Pvt. Enlisted on August 17, 1861.  Admitted to Hospital #1 in Richmond in August.  Furloughed home on October 11, 1862.  Deceased claim filed on February 23, 1863 by his father Isaac Hancock.
Daniel Green Hankins Pvt. Born 1822 in Marion County, Alabama and enlisted September 5, 1861.  Discharged March 28, 1862 in Tuscumbia, Alabama at age 42.  He died April 22, 1887 in Tazewell, Mississippi and was buried in Hardin's Chapel Cemetery, Itawamba County, Mississippi.
Lemuel E. Hankins Pvt. Born in Marion County, Alabama and enlisted December 7, 1861.   Died in Richmond, Virginia on April 14, 1862 at age 18 and buried in Oakwood Cemetery same day.  Deceased claim filed on July 18, 1862 by his father Daniel G. Hankins.
Richmond P. Harris Pvt. Born in Alabama and enlisted from Military Springs, Alabama on September 5, 1861.  Wounded at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 and died the July 3 of his wounds at age 23.  Deceased claim filed by his widow Nancy E. Harris.
J. P. Hawkins Pvt. Wounded in operations around Louden, Faquier and Rapphannock Counties on November 11, 1862.  Admitted to CSA Hospital in Farmville, Virginia on November 12, 1862.  Discharged from service on January 20, 1863.
Thomas Hawkins Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Wounded by gunshot wound to right hand at Chancellorsville May 2-3, 1863 and furloughed 30 days on July 15, 1863.  Never returned as he was listed April, 1864 as deserted on August 20, 1863. 
Franklin C. Hillyer Pvt. Enlisted February 10, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Admitted to St. Mary's Hospital in La Grange, Georgia on July 3, 1864 due to Diarrhea and returned to duty on July 12, 1864.
Wm. H. Howell Pvt. Enlisted December 7, 1861.  Wounded with gunshot wound at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 and admitted to #4 Hospital in Wilmington, North Carolina on July 7.  Wounded with gunshot wound to left hip at Chancellorsville May 2-3, 1863. Admitted to Chimbarazo on May 6 and transferred to Lynchburg on May 11.  Captured at Gettysburg on July 1, 1863 and received at Fort Delaware on July 6.  Took oath and released on May 11, 1865 to Fayette County, Alabama.  He applied for pension in Panola County, Mississippi in 1915.

John W. Johnson Pvt. Captured in attempt to retake Bald Hill, in which the Federals were shelling Atlanta from, on July 22, 1864.  Sent to Camp Chase on July 31 from Louisville Military Prison.  Sent to Point Lookout on February 12, 1865 and exchanged on March 4, 1865.
Alexander H. Jordan Pvt. Born about 1839.  Wounded in action at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 with shell wound to leg.  Eventually admitted to Hospital #3 on December 16, 1862.  Transferred to Hospital #8 on January 8, 1863 as leg turned gangrenous and he died there January 9, 1863.  Deceased claim filed by his father Allen Jordan.
Francis M. Jordan Pvt. Born about 1838 and enlisted September 5, 1861 and deserted March 1, 1864.  Older brother of Alexander H. Jordan.
James D. Keenum Pvt. Admitted to Hospital # 25 and returned to duty on December 12, 1862.  Deceased claim filed on April 28, 1863.
Irby King Pvt. Born in Fayette County, Alabama and enlisted December 8, 1861.  Died in camp at Tuscaloosa on February 23, 1862 at age 18.  Deceased claim filed by his father James King with L. B. as the power of attorney.
Isreal Z. B. King Pvt. Born in South Carolina and enlisted September 5, 1861.  Admitted to Chimbarazo on April 11, 1862 due to diarrhea and returned to duty on May 18.  Admitted to General Hospital at Howard's Grove for Scorbutus on August 6, 1863.  Released for duty on September 12 but never reported back to duty (deserted).
B. M. Kitchens Pvt. Enlisted March 3, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Admitted to Way Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi on January 16, 1865 for debilities and then transferred to Monroe County, Alabama.
J. L. Kitchens Pvt. Enlisted March 3, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Survived war and lived in Montgomery, Alabama in 1911.
Lemuel C. Mahan Pvt. Born in Pickins County, Alabama and enlisted January 23, 1862.  Admitted to Chimbarazo on April 4, 1862 due to "Irritation Spinalis" producing great discomfort in Lumbar Region of spine.  Discharged from duty on May 25, 1862 at age 16 and released from the hospital on June 8, 1862.  His widow Catherine applied for pension in Calhoun County, Mississippi in 1916.
William J. Mahan Pvt. Born in Pickins County, Alabama and enlisted February 25, 1862.  Wounded with gunshot wound to hand at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 and admitted to Chimbarazo on July 2, 1862.  Transferred to Petersburg Hospital on July 8.  Discharged from duty on July 19, 1862 at age 23 and discharged from Hospital on July 30, 1862.
B. F. Mathis Pvt. Enlisted March 15, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Patient in Cannon Hospital in Military Springs, Alabama in July, 1864.
James A. Mize Pvt. Born in Bibb County, Georgia and enlisted July 20, 1863.  Died of typhoid in Exchange Hospital in Gordonsville, Virginia on September 9, 1863 at age 17.  Deceased claim filed January 22, 1864 by his father Nelson Mize.

Wm. W. Mize Pvt. Enlisted February 21, 1863.  Captured at Gettysburg on July 2, 1863.  Received at Fort Delaware on July 6.  Exchanged at Aikens Landing, Virginia on September 30, 1864 and applied for furlough on October 9, 1864.  Signed oath on May 26, 1865 in Columbus, Mississippi.  His widow Virginia P. Mize applied for pension in Monroe County, Mississippi in 1904. 
J. H. Morrell Pvt. 6 feet tall.  Enlisted February 10, 1864 and present at Andersonville.  Paroled in Montgomery, Alabama on May 23, 1865.
P. Martin W. Morton Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Listed as deserted on July 1, 1863.  Took oath on August 4, 1864 and promised to stay north of Ohio River.  Told Federal Army that he was Asst. Surgeon but there is no record of that.

John A. Palmer Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861 into Company A.  Transferred to company F on December 1, 1862.  Captured at Gettysburg Field Hospital on July 5, 1863 when he stayed with the wounded.  Sent to Fort Delaware.  Admitted to U.S.A. Hospital in West's Buildings in Baltimore, Maryland on September 17, 1863 and eventually exchanged.  Deserted January 1, 1864.
Henry "Harry" Parker Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Listed as sick in Richmond on November, 1862 Regimental returns.  Wounded at Chancellorsville May 2-3, 1863.  Present at Andersonville.  Paroled May 27, 1865 with residence listed as Military Springs, Fayette County, Alabama.

Born about 1833 in Alabama and enlisted September 5, 1861.  Wounded at Malvern Hill on July 1, 1862 with injury to chest.  Admitted to #13 Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on August 2, 1862.  Wounded in Chancellorsville on May 3, 1863 with gunshot wound to neck and left foot and admitted to Chimbarazo.  Wounds left him paralyzed on left side.  Given 50 day furlough on June 27, 1863.  Never returned and listed as deserted on October 29, 1863.  Applied for relief in Lamar County, Alabama and then filed for pension there later.  Died August 8, 1900.
Rufus Smith Pvt. Admitted to Danville Hospital, Virginia on July 2, 1862 due to diarrhea and returned to duty on September 16.

Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Wounded in Chancellorsville May 3, 1863.  Recovered and present at Andersonville.  Captured at Nashville on December 16, 1864 and sent to Camp Chase, Ohio on January 2, 1865.  Took oath and released on June 12, 1865 at age 40 with Fayette County as residence.  His wife Dulcia Lucretia applied for pension in Choctaw County, Mississippi in 1906.
Harry T. Summers Pvt. Received pay from September 5, 1862 to December 7, 1862 and survived war according to local genealogist.

Hospital in White House Landing, Virginia on June 1, 1862.  Sent to Portsmouth Grove, Rhode Island on July 7 and paroled at Fortress Monroe on September 22, 1862.  Exchanged and given wounded furlough home to Fayette County, Alabama.  Detailed to Breckinridge Hospital in Lauderdale Springs, Mississippi on February 25, 1863 as nurse.   Still on active rolls of Regiment at Andersonville in April, 1864..
H. W. Waits Pvt. Enlisted March 5, 1862.  Admitted to Chimbarazo on April 22, 1862 for pneumonia.  Listed as deserted on July 24, 1862.
J. F. Walls Pvt. Enlisted December 7, 1861 and deserted on February 28, 1862.
J. W. Watley Pvt. Admitted to Camp Winder Hospital on September 23, 1862.  Wounded in action at Chancellorsville and admitted to #9 Hospital and transferred to Chimbarazo on May 13, 1863.
Perry J. Webb Pvt. Enlisted March 16, 1862 and present at Andersonville.  Admitted to Ocmulgee Hospital in Macon, Georgia for diarrhea on June 14, 1864 and transferred from there on June 24 to an unknown location.  Residence listed Marion County, Alabama.  Captured near the Chattahootchie River on July 4, 1864 and received at Camp Douglas on July 18.  Transferred to Point Lookout on February 21, 1865 for exchange due to illness.  Admitted to Howards Grove on March 3, 1865.
C. C. Williams Pvt. Detailed as teamster in 1862.  Admitted to Buchanan, Virginia Hospital on April 3, 1863 and given 30 day furlough from there on May 14, 1863.
E. W. Williams Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861 and deserted on August 1, 1863 to join cavalry.
J. R. Williams Pvt. Admitted to #22 Hospital in Richmond, Virginia on October 14, 1862.
Andrew J. Willis Pvt. Enlisted September 5, 1861.  Wounded at Gaines Mill on June 27, 1862 in head and thigh from bomb shell and admitted to Chimbarazo on June 30.  Transferred to CSA Hospital in Danville, Virginia on July 1 and returned to duty on July 25, 1862.  Became ill and admitted to Camp Winder Hospital on September 23, 1862 and was given 20 day furlough from there on October 8, 1862.  Never returned and listed as deserted December 1, 1862.
