Joined Navy Aug 48. Went to boot camp and
electrian mate school A at Great Lakes NTC. Sent to
Battery shop New London Conn. There to submarine rescue ship Sunbird ASR 15 ran up and down
east coast for 4 yrs. Got married. Went to EM B school at Great Lakes and back to NL and sub
school. Went aboard Irex SS 482. Wife died and I got married again. Shore duty Naval retraining
Command San Diego Ca. Attended Nuclear Power school. Scuplin SSN 590 next duty station. Next
ships were Sea Devil AGSS 400, Ronquil SS 396, Rasher AGSS 269, Rock AGSS 274. Retired in 68,
came back to PA. Worked for Scott Paper, Lasko Metal Products, Allen Wood Steel, Phoenix Steel,
National Foam . retired for good in 91.

As for getting around made A med. cruise in
Irex,
West Pac cruise in Scuplin, Sea Devil and Rock. My wife Eleanor and I have two boys and two
girls, four grandsons three granddaughters. One son lives in Collingdale,one in Air Force in CO
with about 1 yr to go. A daughter in FL the other in Miss. married Air Force with about 4 yrs to
go. We travel a bit going to ships reunions, mostly Sea Devil. When the kids were over seas we
visited them. Made two trips to Ireland but there are no one that we know there, can't trace any
relatives that we may have.
Our interests are in church events visiting family and friends.
I also have the Alumni assoc. and choir to keep me busy.
