The research on the Cartwright family was carried out by Dawn Fendley, nee Cartwright, on the internet and using the facilities of the LDS Family History Library, the County Library at Taunton, Somerset and with help from cousins in Austrlia.

Charles Cartwright was found living in the East End of London, Middlesex.

It is not known who Charles married and how many children, other than Edwin, that they had.

Edwin William Cartwright was born about 1843, at Woolenmarsh, Shoreditch, London, England.; It is not known when he died. He married Emma Calleon, daughter of Frederick Calleon and Mary A, on the 15th September 1877 in St Barnabas Church, Homerton, Middlesex, England. She was born About 1843 in Blackfriars, London, England.

Emma, a spinster, was living at the same address.
The marriage was by Banns, the celebrant was F R Blatch.
