MANSFIELD-Mrs. Grace H. Brown, 74, 31 Mansfield Ave., Mansfield, died Wednesday morning at her home. She was born Nov. 26, 1899, in Cleveland, to John and Johanna (Keefe) Walsh. She married Ralph H.Brown, a former Findlay resident, and he survives. Also surviving are two sons, Ralph Jr., Mansfield; Thomas, Youngstown; five grandchildren; one great-grandson; a brother Joseph, Cleveland. She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Mansfield: the daughters of Isabella; and the Word War 1 Veterans Auxiliary. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Peter' s Catholic Church, Mansfield.Burial will be in the Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.Visitation will be this afternoon and evening at Wappner Funeral Home, Mansfield.

Mr. Brown died at 3:00 a.m. Wednesday in Blanchard Valley Hospital after a lengthy illness.He was born Jan.1, 1904 in Findlay to James K. And Susan (Farthing) Brown. She was born on April 13, 1931 in Hancock Co. to Claude A. and Lea Jene (Ayers) Beck. She married James B. Smith in September of 1948 and he died Dec. of 1973, she then married Grover F. Biller April 1982 and he died Aug. of 1983 and she married Joe A. McCoy April 13, 1988 and he is also deceased. She is survived by: three sons, James B. (Jennie) Smith of GA; Roger K. (Kimberly) Smith of Findlay and Edwin C. (Lisa) Smith of Chicago; two step-sons, Daniel L. McCoy and Ervin C. McCoy; one step-daughter Mary R. Myers; one brother, Max E. Beck of Walton, MI; four sisters, Natalie B. Rinehart of Fostoria; Margaret L. Rader of McComb; Marlene K. Lanker of McCutchenville and Connie I. Bird of Tiffin; six grandchildren, James and Monica Smith; Anthony and April Smith and Steven and Christopher Smith; six step-grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Norman V. Beck of Findlay; Terry A. Beck of Ft. Pierce, FL; Richard C. Beck of Findlay. She had been a homemaker throughout her life. NORMAN V. BECK

 

Funeral services for Norman V. Beck, 65, of 603 Sixth St., will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home, the Rev. David J. Bringman officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Beck died at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, 1999, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 5, 1933, in Marion Township to Claude and LeaJean (Brown) Beck. He married Patsy Myers on Nov. 15, 1954, and she survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Tim of Findlay, Randy of Lima; five grandchildren; three brothers, Terry of Florida, Max of Walton, Mich., Rick of Findlay; and five sisters, Norma Jean McCoy, Texas, Natalie Rinehart, Fostoria, Margaret Rader, McComb, Marlen Lanker, McCutchenville, Connie Bird, Tiffin.

Mr. Beck was retired from Hisan Co.

He served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War.

Richard Beck

Richard Clifton Beck, 59, of 621 W. Sandusky St., Findlay, passed away at 12:09 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2003 at the Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center Emergency Room.

Born Dec. 28, 1943 in Vanlue to Claude Addison and Lea Jene Brown (Ayers) Beck, both are deceased, he married Ruthie Agnes Pelton on August 17, 1968 and she survives

Also surviving are two daughters, Regina Marie (David C.) Kolan and Rita J. (Donald L.) Large, both of Findlay; two brothers, Terry A. (Rose) of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; and Max E. (Gladys) of Watton, Mich.; and five sisters, Norma Jene McCoy, Brownsville, Texas; Natalie (Marvin) Reinhart, Fostoria; Margaret (Dave) Rice, McComb; Marlene (Russ) Lanker, McCutchenville, Ohio; and Connie (Donald) Bird, Tiffin. Also surviving are granddaughters whom he loved dearly, Shianne R. Large and Adelei M. Kolan.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Norman Victor Beck and Ronnie Joe Beck; and a sister, Ruthie M Beck.

Richard was a member of St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church where he was an usher for many years at the 11 a.m. Sunday Mass. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and Holy Name Society. Richard was formerly employed at San-A-Pure Dairy for 17 years, Snyder Lumber Yard in Vanlue, and currently employed at High Quality Plastics for 17 years as a machine operator. He also delivered The Courier for many years in Vanlue. Richard was an avid football fan, he loved his Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Buckeyes and Detroit Demolition Pro Women's Football Team.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, downtown, the Rev. Adam Hertzfeld officiating. Burial will be in Knollcrest Gardens, east of Findlay.

Visitation will be held from 2-9 P.M. Friday at COLDREN-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, Findlay, where the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree standing guard from 7-9 p.m. and a Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m., followed by the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Presentation.

Memorials may be made to St. Michael's Catholic School Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
