Sarah is daughter of <Schockley Adams> a native of Georgia. He was in the Mexican War under General Wool. After the war, he moved to Missouri and engaged in farming.13

Merced Sun Star, March 25, 1936: MRS. CRANDALL DIES AT HOME.
Mrs. Sarah Ann Crandall, died at her home, 737 Nineteenth, at 10 last night. Active up to the time of her death, she was ill only one day. Funeral services will be announced by Welch and Griffin.
Sarah Ann Adams was born near Warrensburg, Mo., in October of 1856. The family later moved to Kansas, where in 1873 Miss Adams married Perry Crandall, a medical student. From 1873 to 1892 they lived in Kansas, coming to Merced in the latter year and buying a home in British Colony.
Dr. Crandall died in 1924. Mrs. Crandall then moved to her Nineteenth street home. A son, C.C. Crandall, died in 1931. A daughter, Alma Fitchett-Champlain, died in 1922. A daughter, Mrs. R.S. Weaver of Bear creek drive, survives.

Moved with her family to Sedan, Chautauqua Co., KS in1873. Perry & Sarah lived in KS 1873-1882. Purchased home in British Colony in Merced, CA, in 1882.

Sarah died in her home at 737 19th St, Merced.4

RETIRED PHYSICIAN IS CALLED BY DEATH.
Dr. Perry Crandall, a well-known retired physician of this county passed away early Thursday morning at the home of his son, C.C. Crandall, in British Colony, death resulting from general debility due to the infirmities of old age.
Dr. Crandall was a native of Ohio, aged 81 years, and was engaged in the practice of his profession for over twenty years. He retired in 1904 and came to California, settling in British Colony, near this city, where he resided until the time of his death, respected and esteemed by all who knew him.
He leaves his widow, a son, C.C. Crandall, local mail carrier; a daughter, Mrs. R.S. Weaver of this city; and a sisiter, who resides in Aurora, Illinois.
Funeral services will be held at the chapel of Welch and Griffin tomorrow [Saturday] afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Richard Brown of the Christian Church and Rev. D.C. Williams of Bethel M.E. Church officiating. Interment will be in the Masonic cemetery.
