Mariposa Gazette: Cademartori Rites in Hornitos Friday
HORNITOS Dec. 16, 1926: Mrs. Laura Cademartori, 62, pioneer of Mariposa county, who died at her Hornitos home yesterday morning, will be held Friday morning at 10:30 from the Catholic church, Father Frederick Deschenes of Mariposa officiating. The body is now at the Welch and Griffin mortuary in Merced where it will remain until returned to Hornitos for the service. Interment will be in the Catholic cemetery. Death resulted from an illness which had lasted for several months.
Mrs. Cademartori was the widow of Giovanni Cademartori, who died here a few years ago. She was born in Mariposa county June 10, 1864, and spent her entire life here. Faithful in church work and friendship, she leaves a host of friends to mourn.
One son and two daughters survive: August Cademartori, Mrs. Angelina Guest and Mrs. Amelia Williams, all of Hornitos.
Surviving also are one brother and two sisters: Dan Castagnetto of Hunter’s Valley, Mrs. Angie Dulcich of Stockton, and Mrs. Louisa Lord of Merced.

Hornitos Man Dies Merced Falls
Giovanni Cademartori, for almost a half century a resident of Hornitos, died at his home in Merced Falls last Wednesday morning from heart trouble brought on by an injury he received several months ago, when he was caught between two cars.
Mr. Cademartori was a native of Italy and came to California 60 years ago, locating at Hornitos where he engaged in mining. Two years ago he moved to Merced Falls where he was employed by the Yosemite Lumber Company. Mr. Cademartori was one of the best known and most highly respected citizens of the Hornitos section. He is survived by his widow and one son, August Cademartori of Merced Falls, and two daughters, Mrs. A. O. Williams and Mrs. J. Guest of Hornitos. The funeral was held at Hornitos on Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock p.m.
