Served in Civil War, enlisting on 22 Dec 1864 for three years. He was a Private in Co. H, 1st NY Dragoons and was captured and confined in Libby Prison where he contracted an illness from which he never recovered, After his release and while home on furlough, he died in his 35th year, leaving his widow, Salley, and 5 children.
