Services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Chapel for Alvin Ellsworth Weaver, 91, who died at his home here Monday.
A reception in Norvell Hall of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 350 W. Yosemite Ave., will follow at 2 p.m.
Rev. Edward Murphy of St. Luke's Church will officiate and entombment will be in Evergreen Mausoleum.
Mr. Weaver was born Sept. 13, 1891 in Livingston and was a lifetime resident of the Merced area. He was employed by Pacific Gas and Electric and was a retired rice grower.
He was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, the Grange, the American Association of Retired Persons and the Old Timers Club.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Weaver of Merced; a daughter, Barbara Beames of Merced; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions to St. Luke's Church or a charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
