Ruth A. Slonaker
Ruth A. Slonaker, 69, of Port Charlotte, Fla., died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at her home.
She was born Jan. 5, 1936, in Buffalo, N.Y., daughter of the late Charles Irvin and Ruth H. (Wescott) Eggert.
Mrs. Slonaker lived in Tonawanda, N.Y., and Allentown, Pa., before moving to Port Charlotte in December 1989. Mrs. Slonaker was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Port Charlotte.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles W. Slonaker; and proud mother of daughters, Deborah (Gary) Culver and Sandra Chidester; and son Melvin C. Parry Jr.; stepmother of Ron (Cheryl) Slonaker, Mark Slonaker and Lynn Smith; loving sister of Janice (Burt) Uebelhoer; loving grandmother of Joseph Parry, Brian Chidester, Bill Culver, Melanie Chidester, Taylor Parry and Kylie Parry; and adoring great-grandmother of Hailie Marie.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Melvin C. Parry Sr.
Memorial services will be held 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, 2005, at the First Presbyterian Church in Port Charlotte.
A memorial service followed by inurnment at Elmlawn Mausoleum will be held in Tonawanda at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Slonaker's memory, may be made to the Araba Temple A.A.O.N.M.S., Transportation Fund, 2010 Hanson St., Fort Myers, FL 33901.
