Notes for Robert Jay Danziger MORENO
aka: Jay Morris Danziger, Jr.

When Bob's mother, Daisy Canfield Moreno, died in a car accident, Bob was on a shooting expedition in Africa. Bob was originally born as Robert Jay Danziger but after his parents divorce and mother's subsequent marriage to Antonio Moreno, the film star, Bob adopted the last name of Moreno.

Uncle Bob was a cinematographer and filmed the Ozzie and Harriet series, the Angie Dickiensen "Policewoman" series, "Love Boat" and "Hotel" series along with numerous other movies. He was found unconscience in his hallway around 1993. He had suffered from a CVA secondary to IDDM. His wife, Pigeon, passed away in the 1980's leaving him with just his son, Michael. Michael is a bit of a recluse-at 40+ years of age, he's never been married, lives at home with his father and is unemployed.

In the early 1930's Bob was a student at USC studying business. He was offered a job as a pilot if he was willing to learn how to fly and then go to Africa for a couple of years afterwards. Bob said that he was never a very good pilot and either landed his plane in the tree tops or had to spend alot of time trying to get the plane back down to an altitude that it was possible to land at all! He never actually studied photography, just picked it up as a hobby.

During WW2 he was a combat photographer and actually took footage at Utah Beach during the Normandy invasion. He said that he was in the harbor in a wooden boat taking pictures as gunshots exploded all around him. He said it was terrifying and exhilierating all at once!

Uncle Bob passed away quietly in his bed at home on September 1, 2000 after a 10 year struggle with diabetes, prostate cancer and finally heart failure. The end of the "golden era" of the Moreno/Canfield family passed away with him. Bob will be cremated and no service as per his wishes. My mother, Mary Warthin, and I plan to scatter his ashes on the grave site of his grandparents, Charles and Phoebe Canfield, in Forest Lawn Cemetary in Los Angeles, CA.182
Notes for Alice (Pigeon) Lillian Karen (Spouse 1)
Alice was of Swedish descent-her parents immigrated to America at the turn of the century. Her father was a chemist. Her husband, Bob, gave her the nick-name "Pigeon" because she was a large chested woman.182
