HIMES, Joseph Hendrix, a Representative from Ohio; born in New Oxford, Adams County, Pa., August 15,1885; attended the public schools, Gettysburg College, and Pennsylvania State College; employed in the steel industry; engaged as banker; elected as a Republican to the Sixty-seventh Congress (March 4, 192 1 -March 3, 1923); unsuccessful candidate in 1922 for reelection to the Sixty-eighth Congress; founder, president, and chairman of the board of directors of Group Hospitalization, Inc., Washington, D.C.; engaged in various business interests in Washington, D.C., New York City, and elsewhere; died in Washington, D.C., September 9, 1960, interment in Fort Lincoln Cemetery.206
