NEWMAN RESIDENT PASSED AWAY SUNDAY
Gerdis Morton Lee, a Newman resident for 11 years, passed away Sunday evening in a Modesto hospital after a lengthy illness.
A native of Athens, Alabama, he was 54 years old and had been a California resident for 21 years.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Betty Hamblin of Pittsburg, California, Mrs. Reba Davis of North Hollywood, Mrs. Linda Sue Perez of Gustine and Miss Debra Lee of Newman; a son, Billy Lee of North Hollywood; three sisters, Mrs. Ludie Hall of Gustine, Mrs. Lydia Hall of Newman and Mrs. Jewel Adcock of Modesto; a brother, Joseph R. Lee, Jr., of Phoenix, Arizona; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon in the Davis-Hansen Funeral Chapel, with Rev. James Salmons, Jr., pastor of the First Baptist Church, conducting the rites. Interment was in Hills Ferry Cemetery.
